We mostly see Rekha don heavy kanjeevarams with even heavier jewellery when making a public appearance. At the unveiling of Dabboo Ratnani’s 2016 calendar though, she threw us quite the curveball wearing a white sari with Dolce & Gabbana-esque earrings and tortoise-shell sunnies.

I may not like that bag on her but still loved this departure from the usual. Did you as well?

Designer saris and lehengas may come and go but there is something to be said about our rich traditional silks. We’ll just never get sick of them.

Sure, Rekha got her make-up a wee bit wrong and Anusha faltered a bit with the drape, but their saris were a sight for sore eyes.
