In Prada

Had we asked what Anna Wintour and Kiran Rao have in common, we are pretty sure you’d have been thrown for a loop! But now, you can say Prada! Didn’t we say never a dull moment with this one?!

It was a Prada Spring 10 coat that we spotted on Ms. Rao at the recent premiere. We love how she constantly mixes it up and keeps us on our toes.

Now, someone give her a magazine cover already!

P.S: More inside.

Get Shorty

The dressed-down look didn’t quite work for the lovely Ms. Saran. And more recently, the dressed-up look came up short too.

As much as I love Shriya’s recent appearance waist-up, it’s still a no-go on the denim shorts!

The shoes and those embellished shorts are such a downer, more so when paired together! Ms. Saran should’ve gone with a pair of well tailored black shorts and peep-toes with that silk cowl-neck top for a great look. Next time perhaps?

Prada’s Made In India Series: A First Look

It’s no secret that almost all of the world’s leading brands have at one point been inspired by India and many continue to use the finest materials available only in India. In an honor to recognize globalization, Prada’s “Made In …” project features collections from around the world marked by the special tag specifying the country’s name.

The “Made In India” collection features handmade garments featuring chikan work as well as bags and footwear with traditional weaving technique.

Here’s your first look.

P.S. It’s great to see Prada openly acknowledge the products with the more accurate where it’s made at even though it is for a limited series. It is no secret that many brands still do hide the fact. Read Vir Sanghive’s in-depth article about it here.

In Prada

It was a Prada 60’s inspired dress from the Fall 2010 collection for Anu on day two that she paired with bow heels and a glittery clutch. Anu did change up the hair a wee bit (if you can call it that) by going for soft curl ends. Such beautiful outfits and she does wear them well but at the end of the day, the same-ole-hair just makes them all feel so monotonous.

In Lecoanet & Hemant

Spotted Soniya Mehra in a Lecoanet and Hemant dress recently, one which earned her an ‘Almost‘.

While I appreciate the fact that Soniya wore her hair back to play up the ghungroo accents on the dress, do wish that the accessories she chose weren’t so overwhelming with the look. Tan as a color works but the bag was much too big and the shoes much too chunky for the dress.
