Wearing a blush-colored gown, Kangana attended a recent event in Mumbai. Given that the event in question was for a jewelry brand she endorses, the diamond jewelry was a given. And the choice to go with an unobtrusive gown to let that very jewelry shine, also a given. That said however, I can’t say this was one of Ms. Ranaut’s better sightings.

Between the ruched corset and tulle, the gown felt rather prom-ish. The coral-toned lip color when combined with her hair color, with all the blush-tones already in place struck bit of a discordant note too.

This one was close! Katrina could’ve looked way better than she actually did had the gown been slightly altered for her off the runway. To put it mildly, the ruffle-boa detail was distracting and instead of adding to the dress, brought it down several notches.

The India International Jewellery Week got off to a start with big names walking the runway. Katrina Kaif walked for Nakshatra diamonds in a lehenga by Neeta Lulla and Deepika Padukone for Farah Khan Ali in Seema & Jamila Malhotra.

Between the two, there was a clear winner for me and it was Deepika who looked absolutely ravishing in the beige Seema & Jamila Malhotra sari. The outfit was beautiful without being overwhelming and it did not take any attention away from Farah’s design. That was so the case for Katrina, though. Between the lace lehenga and the gloves, I can’t even pay attention to the diamond necklace that SHOULD be the center of attention.

P.S: The models in Farah’s show were dressed in Ana Singh but, Farah and Deepika were in Seema & Jamila Malhotra outfits. Their looks were styled by Ana though.

As lovely as Ms. Kaif looks, I absolutely hate the pairing of that blouse with the sari. It’s neither eclectic/kitschy, nor is it a well thought out contrast… all it is, is a contrast for the sake of contrast. Argh. Complete downer.

Sari itself is nice and can’t fault Katrina neck up but that blouse gets my goat.

We liked Mansi Scott’s look at the Nakshatra event, but what on earth happened to her at Mink’s album launch?? Sure she had the ever popular Fendi B Belt, but even that couldn’t rescue her look!
