In Nishka Lulla

This isn’t a dress we’d gravitate to personally (at all) but, on Soniya it works; she wears it well.

The Anarkali Ladies

Designer Neeta Lulla’s show celebrated her 25 years in the film industry and so it was no surprise to see her fans in attendance. Of the three who sported anarkali styles, Juhi was an automatic favorite. The gold suit made her look radiant unlikes the other two, whose color choices made them look washed out.

P.S. Why does Ameesha get it so wrong with make-up?

On The Ramp

Just yesterday, we were going gaga over her and now we’ve got ourselves this! A fishtail gown made of shiny lurex material with a rosette shoulder was what Sri walked in for designer Neeta Lulla on the last day of LFW.

Considering the gown has two aspects already that we abhor the most (read lurex and rosettes), it should be no suprise that we hated it! As for Sri, she still managed to shine, no pun intended. 😛

LFW Winter/Festive 2010: Payal Singhal

Having been in the business of Fashion for ten years, Payal showcased a collection that included some of her more signature silhouettes and designs. Which of course meant crystal embellishments by way of Swarovski, dresses and kurtas in crepes and satins among others, and sheer leggings.

If this was an exercise in nostalgia, the indulgent designer was a success. We wish she instead reinterpreted her signature style, because as it stands, this wasn’t one our favorites.

LFW Winter/Festive 2010: Shyamal And Bhumika

Shyamal and Bhumika’s collection is sure to find plenty of takers in the coming wedding/festive season. Ornate saris, lehengas, kurta-churidaars, and for the men, sherwanis, kurtas and bundgalas made up the collection. Festive colors and work like zardozi, zari and gotta and embroideries dominated. Though the heavy velvets aren’t for us, the silks and brocades were pretty. If you were looking for something “novel”, this isn’t for you… A collection for the more traditional trousseau this one.
