In Masaba

Both these young designers were spotted in dresses designed by Masaba… And though we don’t have a full-length pic of Nishka’s, I’ve got to say I like the version on Masaba far better.

P.S: Will upload a full-length pic when we find one, in the meantime, you can catch another pic here.

In Malini Ramani And Masaba

Spotted at the Fashion Week, Bina Ramani taking in her daughter’s (Malini Ramani) show and Neena Gupta at her daughter’s (Masaba). And both lovely ladies wore their daughters’ designs to show their support. Awww. Aren’t moms the best?! 🙂

LFW Winter/Festive 2010: Manish Malhotra

Let’s hand it to the man, Manish knows just who his audience is and what his audience wants and sees nothing wrong in showing collection after collection of just that. Manish Malhotra has it down to a science, ladies and gentlemen. Besides the expected voluminous anarkalis and sheer saris, there were harem pants, salwar-kameezes and some western silhouettes in various shades of reds and blues mostly, those being the colors of Aircel, the sponsors of the show.

Yes it was repetitive. Some of it very pretty. And before the ink dries (or it’s equivalent in the web world), half of Bollywood would be spotted in it. So to speak.

LFW Winter/Festive 2010: Neeta Lulla

For her collection, Neeta Lulla drew inspiration from the work she’s done spanning two decades. With both western-wear and Indian-wear, Neeta covered a whole gamut of silhouettes. And used in abundance were nets, pleating, crystals and a whole lot of rosettes. A whole lot of rosettes.

We’ve had enough celebrity sightings (in Ms. Lulla’s clothes) to know by now that it’s only a matter of time before we see some of these off-the-runway. Sigh.

On an aside, for your reading pleasure, a snippet from the P.R note:

The show stopper was the beauteous Bollywood star Sridevi in a sensational silver will-power fish tail gown bringing to end a fantastic show.

In Burberry Prorsum

Am not one for excessively ruched dresses… Having said that, Ms. Gujral does fare a lot better than many would’ve in this dress. She actually fills the dress out better than the catalogue model! And I love the red lips and the addition of the beads. Disregarding my ruchephobia, Feroze looks great!
