Limited Edition Dior ‘India’ Saddle Bag

John Galliano designed 12 limited edition Dior Saddle Bags, those inspired by Mexico, China, Russia among others! But what interests us, is of course the ‘India’ saddle bag!

The nudge at an old-world elaborate nose-ring isn’t lost on anyone and while a little garish ,and I do wonder why most Indian inspired things are, its fun!

John Galliano in honour of his 10th anniversary at the house, designed 12 saddle bags, each paying tribute to the 12 countries that have inspired him during his time with Dior! While a little loud and over the top, they are still being touted as good investment pieces!

Of course the news of these bags is trifle old but the reason I write is, I saw a lady at the Delhi airport carrying a bag that looked remarkably like the saddle but very, very Indianised and when I went up to her and asked if it was Dior, she said “Nahin ji, GK se liya hai”! (No, I got it from GK)(*GK, a marketplace in Delhi) 🙂 And ‘that’ turned to ‘this’ post!

On an aside, I just got into India! And in true High Heel spirit the first thing I did was to buy Vogue India at the airport! (Family has mentioned therapy but we are working on it!)

What do you all think of the Dior Fall/Winter 07 campaign with Jessica Stam? I love the absolute overdose of vibrant color but hate the way Jessica has been styled. I itch to yank off that wig (if it is one)! Just the styling of the hair spoils it totally for me…

"Lady" of the Rings

I love rings.. except I have small fingers. I envy women, who have lovely long fingers where any kind of a ring looks awesome. Believe me, if you ever just looked at my hand, you would think they belonged to a 10 year old! But all this does not stop me from surfing and eyeing all the available options online..
So today instead of browsing Bluefly for bags, I decided to do some ring searching and here are couple of my favorites. OK OK.. the list is really long..!

This one is from David Yurman. I love the alternating black and white. I am a real sucker for black and white! You could easily use this to stack in between two white gold rings or two silver rings and make a collection.
Buy the Diamond & Black Onyx Eternity Band for $1495 from David Yurman at Neiman Marcus

Another find is the Confetti Ring also from David Yurman. I love the multicolor look of the different gemstones. I am not sure if I am liking the rope effect of the actual ring. It seems to be a signature style of most of the David Yurman Rings.

Buy the Confetti Ring for $1650 from David Yurman at Neiman Marcus

This ring is really simple and what I love about it is that it is open ended on the top. Its a cute ring for someone young in their 20s.. Gives you that flirty feeling…

Buy the Paloma’s Tenderness Heart ring for $1495 from Tiffany online

I am a big fan of thick bands with gems. I love the soft color effect the blue sapphires have on the ring as a whole.

Buy the Tiffany Bubbles ring for $6500 from Tiffany online

Here is another version of the Tiffany Bubbles ring with all diamonds.

Buy the all diamond Bubbles ring for $9000

And this one..I am hoping if I have a secret admirer and that one day he will buy it for me!(Dream on Sista.. Dream on! says my alter ego)

Buy the Diorette Yellow Gold ring for $5500 from eLuxury

P.S My list hasnt ended.. Keep coming back for more fabulous finds!

Patent In Fall

Unless you just crawled out of a rock, you will know that Patent is going to be big in Fall. Am not a fan of Patent, but when teemed with an understated and subtle outfit, a patent accessory might just be what you need to take it to that next level. Lets face it, some bags do work. Black is one of the only colors that probably looks the least ghastly in Patent, in fact, I will even go as far as to say that some of these bags are downright fabulous.

You might naturally be wary of spending big bucks on something that might just be a passing fad but looking at how long they have already been around and, even now, showing no signs of the trend being put to rest, I would say, its a safe buy.

Patent though is a risky risky business and not all that is out there is quite worth it but there are a few which really work and here is my list of Five Patent bags that are worth owning this Fall.
