Sari Style

At the Star Screen Awards, Deepti and Rekha walked the red carpet sporting their signature looks and we think they both looked good. Question here is, whose look is more you?

Sari Style- Part Deux!

For these lovely ladies, it was a sari at their respective events. Of the three, Raageshwari’s was our least favorite… Not our cuppa tea.

We loved both Deepti and Tisca’s saris but if we had to pick just one favorite, it’d have to be Tisca. Adore that sari!

Sari Style

Three very different saris but, it was Deepti who stole the show for us. We thought she looked great!

Wonder why saris like the one on Ms. Naval are more often than not deemed mature and, rarely ever attempted by the younger lot who seem to favor only the diaphanous embellished ones. Oh how we’d love to see some of the B-Town ladies attempt a more earthy look in a sari one of these days!

The Festival Circuit

It was mostly a sari affair at the recently concluded Mahindra Indo-American Arts Council Film Festival in New York. Seema started it off in a black sari (see here) and closed it out wearing a Mekhala Chador (an Assamese style of dressing).

Deepti wore some great shades but wish she had spruced them up with simple silver earrings for a more complete look.

Now, if you think Nandana fares the worst, think again. A face familiar more for her footwear grabbed that title and it wasn’t just because of her footwear. See inside to find out.

The Festival Circuit

It’s been a busy time for director Aparna Sen who first attended the IView Film Festival in New York in September and then the Chicago South Asian Film Festival in Oct. She paired her red (bomkai?) sari with silver jewellery the first time around and then a gold choker at the Chicago appearance. Love the sari. The jewellery, not so much.

Accompanying her at New York was daughter Konkona, who picked an orange one with a pink border and pallu. Of the four ladies, we know which one we loved the least. It was Raajeshwari’s. Would’ve loved Deepti if she added some drop earrings with hers.
