Sari Style

Kriti attended promotions for her upcoming movie first in a red sari by Aastha Narang and then in one by Manish Malhotra. While she looked great in both, I was drawn to the red one just a wee bit more.

You?

In Aastha Narang

Monday promotions for Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster saw Ms. Singh in a taupe colored Aastha Narang anarkali. Besides, the fact that we weren’t really fans of the very visible bandeau lining, the whole look with that dark lipstick felt very dated.

Retail Therapy: It’s Shaadi Season Part Deux

You have survived the mehendi and sangeet, and now comes the main event- the wedding. You are sentimental, bursting with love, want to celebrate the moment and if not the bride herself or already coupled, like every rom-com you have ever seen, are hoping to snag a cute boy for yourself. (No judgement here!) Regardless of how you might be feeling, there’s one thing you don’t have to think too much about- your look. Here are some suggestions so that you can nail that look and go back to watching The Notebook!

A wedding is the best time to go traditional. You can’t go wrong with a classic ivory and gold combo, but if you prefer something more cheery, yellow works well with Indian skin-tones. Besides, it’s so festive! Pair your lehenga or sari with traditional jewelry and enjoy the moment. Go for ‘timeless and elegant’ like the ladies featured here, you won’t regret it.

Now for the last leg, the reception. The finish line is close, there’s champagne (and glorious, glorious carbs) waiting on the other side and you just want to give it that one final push and finish in style. Take some chances and opt for something unpredictable. Even if it’s a sari you are inclined towards, pick something outside your comfort zone. Take inspiration from the ladies featured here and go for a look you can claim your own.

Weddings are fun. Stressful, but fun. Hope these suggestions help tipping the balance in your favor! Happy Shopping. And no matter what you choose to wear, remember to have a fantastic time!

In Astha Narang

Wearing a red Astha Narang lehenga, Raashi attended the Apsara Awards on Sunday evening in Hyderabad. All that red would’ve felt overwhelming if not for the pearl maang-tikka and layered necklace.

I may not like that big satin border on the lehenga but overall she looked nice and looked relatively less costumey.

Lehenga Ladies

At Masaba and Madhu’s sangeet ceremony, these ladies were seen in lehengas with Kangana wearing a mint Sabyasachi, Alia a blue Manish Malhotra and Zoa a pinkAstha Narang .

We think they all looked good, including Kangana if you ignored that pose. But we have to ask, have a favorite?
