In Prama

Giving the shirtdresses a break, Tabu picked a Prama by Pratima Pandey suit for her outing at the movies. Wearing her hair down as she she usually does, metallic sandals and a matching clutch finished out the look. You like?

  1. I like the kurtha. BUT the green dress below makes it look a little frumpy. Wish she was wearing a simple salwar with it.

  2. I think she should go back to the shirtdress. This suit (??) is awkward on her and the model – looks like some kind of tea-picking uniform. All Tabu needs now is a basket in which to drop the picked tea leaves.

  3. As much as I love Tabu, this kurt a and petticoat/skirt ensemble is just not flattering her! A churdiaar would have looked so much better with the kurta!

  4. Hey remember, during the mid eighties, Kurtas over petticoats were a fashion trend, thankfully short lived. Anyone else remember seeing their college going cousins and aunts rock this combo back in the day?

    • Some of us still do while lounging at home on holiday in India. It offers such fantastic ventilation. Don’t see the point of trousers that constrict air circulation in the nether regions. A petticoat is modest enough while still allowing for gentle breeze waftingness. But even I wouldn’t wear it outside the house. It’s strictly nighty+dupatta when stepping out.

  5. Even she seems mildly amused by her ensemble! Who convinces them to step out in such clown outfits? I mean in how can a strange shiny organza Kurta with weird sleeve lengths, a skirt and short pants would make sense. And then she wears those shoes to add insult to injury.

  6. Why Tabu, why? At best, this look OK on the runway. She never had a chance, especially not with that length.
On a side note, she has lovely hair

  7. Yucks. That is an idea which the designer should have abandoned at conception. OMG now I’m wondering how much money was wasted on this ugles ensemble.
