While at an Awards event held last evening in Mumbai, Taapsee was photographed wearing Saroj Jalan. It’s hard to make out from these images but it’s a sari draped over sheer churidaars, and a jacket layered over it all.
Between the embellishment and the layers, visually there’s a lot to take in. But Taapsee to her credit made every bit of the look work; she looked striking on the red carpet. I like!

It’s too much. The same tone of colours help camouflage the disaster.
I’m really drawn to this look. Everything about it is elegant and dreamy except the red churidaar and the hair. A white one and hair a wispy bun would have made it lovelier.

Saree over churidaar and a cape, then in a previous post, Neetu Singh was in similar silhouette. Seems like designers of these outfits have taken ‘inspiration’ from past designs of Anamika Khanna.
LOVE this! at last something we haven’t seen done to death. taapsee has so much chutzpah, she can carry off the trickiest outfits. this would have totally overwhelmed a dozen other women.
I like it. I love that jacket! She could have done a different hairdo. She could have done her hair in braids like Frieda Kahlo!

Tapsee makes this work for her. How beautiful does she look here. The monochromatic soothing colors keep the outfit from looking too in your face. She looks great. Kudos to minimalistic styling.
