In Dolly J

For a recent round of movie promotions, Sonam picked a neoprene Dolly J dress. Given the detail at the neck, am surprised Sonam didn’t wear her hair back either in a ponytail or style it sleek and straight. Because between the fabric, color and draped detail of the dress, the hair weighed down an already heavy look. Besides, not a fan of the wax-like look that the fitted neoprene bodice/top-half of the dress gave off.

  1. I love the dress! I can’t put my finger on it, maybe it’s the color, but it doesn’t look that great on Sonam. You’re right, hair up would probably have changed my mind. Great shoes though.

  2. She looks exactly like she used to during Saawariya promotions. Perhaps it has something to do with the soft hair…gives her a very feminine look.

  3. I think she looks lovely. The dress suits her figure, and is mature, and also simple for a presumably-sombre movie. Hair up would have made her look very serious. She looks great!

  4. It literally looks like a black garbage bag.

It’s also so mature and matronly. Why does she insist on dressing this way? The length of the dress, the sleeves, the fabric – it’s all atrocious.

  5. In her Instagram photo this outfit looked much better. Sometimes lighting, camera flash by photographers makes outfit look really bad. Agree about hair.

  6. The sleeves are likely those grandmotherly saree blouses. The colour is very very dull. And yes, hair behind in a sleek ponytail, would have worked better

  7. This looks uncomfortably tight in the bodice. Don’t like the color either. The hair and shoes don’t go with the make up. Don’t like any of it.

  8. First of all, the ridiculous choice of the fabric (by the designer). And that’s pretty much it: there’s nothing to comment on as nobody would ever be able to pull out a dress made of a fabric that works best as electical insulation… Sonam (or Sonam’s stylist): stick to fabrics, won’t you?
