In Anavila
For her appearance at a recent launch, Sonam picked an Anavila sari to wear. Silver jewelry by Amrapali rounded out the actor’s look.
I do wish the pallu wasn’t draped so severely and/or narrowly. A more fluid drape and a wider pallu across the blouse would’ve made the look seem more relaxed, effortless and dare I add, youthful. It wasn’t a deal-breaker though; Sonam did look lovely!

No, she didn’t. There is so much going on. the high neck blouse, the extra large jhumkis, the braids, the stripes and the print. She looks like a mannequin in a khadi gram udyog!
Beautiful!
For me its good too… n I agree an open palla will have elevated the look..! I love that she does these experimental looks..who cann’t wear this saree with a plain blouse and a low bun n all…but then where is the fun.. !
is she is playing dress up ? none of this is really working.
So true…she just reached into her childhood dress-up box and grabbed a bunch of stuff.
That hairstyle gives an illusion of grey hair.
The sari looks like the blanket handed out in trains… Otherwise, a non-gimmicky look is a welcome change
Lol. Never seen the blankets in trains. But can picturize it. Anavilas are over rated. Can get so much better handlooms elsewhere.
Looks like a school marm! But the earrings are lovely!
as always too much going on with severe hair styple, jhumkas, stiff draping!! every element fight for attention!!
This is how you kill an Anavila saree! She wants to glamorize everything! The blouse along with this palla, hairstyle and ear rings.. nothing is working!
Comical, try very hard, desperate for attention.
I love her earrings, that’s about all.
Face looks so sweet…
I like the pairing of the saree and blouse. I can’t get on board with the hair. The multiple parts are oddly distracting.
The earings are nice.
As usual too much going on. Trust Sonam to take a simple sari and full sleeved blouse and make it OTT.
The high neck blouse isn’t the greatest choice for this saree, nevertheless, she looks lovely. I love all that jewelry, especially the bangles, because the saree is very simple. The hair is a bit much though…a simple bun would have sufficed.
An Anavila sari demands a casual nonchalance , a sort of deliberate shabbiness that makes it modern and cool. By trying so hard with the look, she has completely killed the vibe .
She looks cute!
It’cutely OTT. Loved the hair.
Also, the absence of a frayed hemline makes me happy.
She looked charming and her age !!
Love her makeup here it’s so fresh very youthful
Not loving this. Too many distracting elements. As someone who evidently enjoys fashion, I feel Sonam should know better.
Not to throw shade or spark a debate- but I feel that on HHC pages, there is an added measure of meanness towards Sonam and and adoration towards Deepika while commenting on their style – both unwarranted at times. It takes away from what this website used to be, which was objective and mostly unbiased fashion commentary. Good fashion should be good fashion and bad styling should be bad styling regardless of our personal biases.
Pretty pretty tribal chic 🙂
Not loving this at all. That blouse needed a relaxed styling and that hairstyle is a monstrosity. Such a gorgeous saree though
The jewelry is not from amrapali, they just confirmed as I wanted to order them!
