Black. White. And Grey (Area)?

Comment image 66

It’s a look we like coz’ it’s trendy without screaming itself hoarse. And as classic ‘black and white’ is, this was a nice fresh, young look minus the uptightness of a forcefully channeled ‘classic’. Love the pulled back hair and an otherwise minimal look. The only thing we’d change? Those shoes.

P.S. Ms Kapoor is wearing an Alice+Olivia necklace top and Opening Ceremony pants with Jimmy Choo bag/shoes (Via Twitter).

  2. i loved this look,

this is 80s inspired look done so well that it doesnt look OTT. if only the shoes were not so pointy i would have had liked it more.

she can carry anything so well. make up, attitude perfect!

      • Too many items that make a satemnet in one outfit overbear it. The hair and trousers already do because they’re done well.

The shoes are patterned and pointy. They were unnecessary. And don’t go with the trousers or overall look..

As far as anything black or classic pumps being predictable… 90% of the time girls pair them wrongly and undervalue them… they’re rarely paired right with ensembles and when they are they take them to another plane.

Don’t underestimate classics but do resent those who don’t understand them 😉

        • no one is underestimating classics.
according to me the shoes work. nothing wrong with pointed shoes done well.
i don’t think there are any hard and fast rule in fashion. people often get caught up in rut of whats in/out.

          • agreed gaga, i think in this era-most stringent fashion rules are out, if you can make it work and make it yours- its your fashion statement. i am pretty sure coco would’ve thought rihanna’s fashion sense is outrageious- but in todays’ date she is considerent one of the most fierce fashion forward celeb.

            not underestimating classics at all!
sonam rocks this look- a little understated, but trendy and young, her own little twist to a classic look- pointy shoes and all in her own personal way!

  3. Meh. I LOVE the necklace, and the bad, and her face, but that is it. I don’t like the rest of the outfit, the shirt, the pants(oh god the pants), the shoes, all scream “Meh”.

  4. I like everything about this look. Very nicely put together. She has a great fashion sense. Chic, casual, classy – not sure. But she looks so comfy.

  5. she looks better in the dark than in the light. lol i sound dodgy.
but seriously, love the top and the bag is yummy!
you’re right, the shoes are kind of a let down, but hey, the rest of the look (including her pretty face) diverts attention from them.

  6. like i’ve said many times…pulled back hair looks classic and not many indian women do it. i think for them open hair=pretty.
love the look. she sure likes to experiment and she pulls it off every time. very fashion forward.

      • definitely fashion forward according to indian standards. remember you can’t compare her with actresses abroad. there’s no match.
none of the bollywood bunch would dare wear this and make it work.

        • I would go on to say that she is better dressed that 70 odd% of the Hollywood actresses as well..and I do not mean designer!!! she uses regular pieces (from F21) and can make them work!!! she has a wonderful dressing sense…think she is both a fashion enthusiast and fashion forward!!!

  7. I dont like the pants…but its a personal choice here….would have paired that awesome top with long loose parallel pants with a straight fit..and of course different shoes….the look looks incomplete to me….

    • Don’t you think that’s taking it a little too far? I mean…is she supposed to wear a tank inside to cover it up, so there’s not even an illusion of her wearing a bra?

IMO there’s too much noise made among us about someone’s bra strap showing or an outline showing. Women have boobs and they wear bras. That’s nothing to be ashamed about.

    • it is the same bag, she has just put the shoulder chain inside the bag and is wearing it as a clutch. When it comes to fashion, I would compare her with the best of hollywood, but must say she spend a bomb on her clothes and it does not appear that she gets them for free. I saw her mom at Saks Fifth Ave in Beverly hills before thanksgiving and she bought a few G.Zanotti shoes , size 9 1/2. The shoes she is wearing are selling for $610

  11. LOVE her look ankle up…the makeup and hair ARE FAB! (although the not-straightness of the shirt is bothering me)
I too hate the shoes, I’m just not into the manolo-type of pointy shoe
I’m a Loub girl (you know, aside from the whole no-leather thing) 😉

  16. Sonam does a LOT of black and white…I would say she mostly wears B&W. But she does them so well that you never notice. And she also changes it up…with occasional pinks, oranges, beige/golds, blues. But those are rare. B&W is her thing. I don’t like these cropped pants but she does them well.
