In Toni Maticevski

For her appearance on a television show, Sonam picked separates by an Australian designer, Toni Maticevski. Pairing the high-waisted skirt with a matching bustier gave an illusion of a full-skirted midi dress while the lilac silk jacket, also by the designer paired well with the graphic separates. Ankle-strap sandals, understated jewelry and partially pinned back wavy hair finished out the look.

Add a pillbox hat and a box bag, she very well could’ve been transported straight out of the Fifties. Not that I’d mind though, I’ve said it before, it’s my favorite era. This vintage-inspired look is right up Ms. Kapoor’s alley and whether excessive or not, a look that she wears perfectly well.

  1. Love this but her make up almost always ruins everything. Why can’t the MUA get the foundation color right! Also blend blend blend that blush. Uggh

  3. This is utter clown show from the white washing with some pink blush, excessive boobage, the lab coat to the missing arms. Ha!

  4. I like it but wish she would go with younger, slightly more casual clothes while she still can. She has her whole life left do do these types of looks. Why does she want to be a 50 year old socialite before her time?

  5. Pretty she looks! I have to say, when it comes to classy n vintage, Sonam pulls it off the best. Wavy hair.. perfect. And the make up is perfect too considering this as a vintage rosy blush that was so common back then. Love this look top to toe

  6. Such a huge contrast in color between her neck and her face. Too much white wash . I don’t like this look and I am being objective here. I love the coat/ cape / jacket but I hate the skirt . I would have preferred a fitted skirt . Nothing to go gaga over in this look.

  7. That’s a night dress right? Even if she’s the most fashionable person on Indian soil, she’s way too indulgent and often overdresses for events that don’t need her to.

  10. Where is she? In new york? Even i would love to dress like a new yorker in mumbai but sometimes you need to wear weather appropriate and practical clothes

  11. Bustier is too low cut for my taste. The lilac doesn’t go with the blue. I feel she wore that jacket to cover up the rather daring neckline, but it just seems inappropriate for the Indian summer weather. Maybe something around the neck would have been nice. The shoes are not working either. Overall, a miss.

  12. I am huge fan of style, but this beyond me! Why you wear a top coat for a TV, I fail to understand! And it’s like she is pregnant and wants to hide from the world!! How about sporting a 2014 look sometime? Rather than visiting 1950’s every time

  13. Despite of the hate Sonam gets on the fashion blog, and also I don’t care as much about her off screen, I absolutely love her fashion sense. I think carries international brands very well and stands out with her impeccable dressing sense.

  14. It reminds me of Sufi dancer. Well her makeup is Ok for me, but her hair…. Mmm nah. And she wanted some attention on her chest. Doesn’t suit her.

  15. Too much cleavage on display..not liking it….and why does she have to make a statement always? She can at times take it a bit easy….perhaps. .

  16. OMG – GET OVER THE CLEAVAGE COMMENTATORS! She is an adult woman, who has breasts (not-plastic, might I add) and isn’t afraid to show. I, for one, like that she is flaunting it au natural instead of opting for a boob job that many female actors seem to go for these days. I think she brings current trends together in pairing houndstooth with pastel – she looks awesome, good that she opted for a casual hairstyling. I feel that the lighting of the studio makes her look facial complexion pinkish/lilac-y, perhaps something for her MUA to think about.
