Risky Business

The last time anyone looked good in just a white shirt was probably Tom Cruise in ‘Risky Business’. And, I have to salute Sonam for going out in public in an oversized shirt. Of course, she wore opaque leggings and a vest with her shirt. (Although, the camera flash still made her leggings look like they were see-through.)

As much as I am against matching, when the color scheme is black and white, I think it is okay not to stray from it. If it were me, I would probably stick to black oxfords instead of beige, but then since its Sonam, I am not surprised that she contrasted her look with a different color. Always changing things up and that is what we love about her.

  1. I love to wear oversized shirts all the time….sonam rocks the look… this shows that she is diligently following fashion and is doing a superb job at it… i still feel her leggings could have been better…. also wanted to mention that she has a stylist but nonetheless carries a very good aesthetic sense of her own

  2. Leggings were not such a good idea. I hate it when girls substitute it for pants. A pair of skinny jeans would have suited her better. And the shoes? WTH?

  3. She looks great, and I agree, the only time monochrome is acceptable is whith black, or black and white 🙂
love the nude oxfords, and I say the leggings are acceptable…I don’t really like the jewlery though, it doesn’t really gel with the rest of the look
AND I feel like I should know what those sunglesses are…they remind me of Dior but you never know with Sonam
HA! I KNEW she had a stylist- but I have to say, she still carries herself very awkardly (i.e. she’s lacking a lot of grace)
    with time, with time

  4. Its a very pretty and chic style. Actually I think the beige shoes give an interesting contrast to the black/white. Oh, and does Sonam wear and pair the BESTTTT accessories with every single outfit or what?! Seriously she’s very interesting off-screen (and on it too – saawariya and d6 –woot!)

  5. It’s funny because we expect Sonam to be different each time, and she takes it to greater heights with every appearance. Love the look on her, especially the shades. Can someone give her a Vogue cover? It’s high time!

  8. Dont like the overdone look. It looks like she wants to appear as if she’s just put it altogether at the last minute but it looks like shes taken hours to put the look together. The chunky mismatched jewellery, the loose wasitcoat and shirt gives off vibes that the look was MEANT to be boho chic but she hasnt carried it off well. The Chanel glasses dont look right on her either. On a positive note, i do love the shoes 🙂

  9. Not as much a fan of the look because of the see through leggings – otherwise it’s a pretty normal oversized shirt+legging combo+hobo, no? If I can be honest, I think most Sonam coverage is a bit biased ;l-)) I like some of her other choices, more unique than the rest, but not everything she wears is completely outstanding.. just an opinion! Kudos to her for trying something different from the rest though.

  12. Very cute look, but the shoes were hideous with the b/w outfit. Jeans would have been fine, but I still would have hated the choice of shoes, only a bit less than with leggings!

  13. That is a terrible look even if it is Sonam wearing the outfit. Leggings are just bad and those shoes and vest are ugly. Are we going back to the tacky 80s?

If a less admired (for style) person had worn this outfit, that person would be laughed at on this site.

  14. This is a very Gap-type look. Sonam is skinny and tall so looks good in this outfit. Cannot imagine it working on any other body type.

  15. She looks great. Even if she has a stylist, he/she would only work on her when she’s attending premieres or something right? The casual look seems to be her own.

  17. why would she wear glasses when its dark… that to me speaks ” trying too hard to impress”… loose the glasses and the look would have been great

  18. @deewani: dude it’s possible she didn’t put make-up tthat will hide her dark circles so the shades. i think that’s why a lot of times celebs wear shades indoors.

  19. As far as I know, Sona has never mentioned that she has a stylist, she probably gets help from her friends and sister? Most of it is her own doing.

    Her glasses are Chanel.
