While jetting off to Delhi for Neerja promotions, Sonam was seen in a printed Rishta by Arjun Saluja jacket, one that she wore with a long black top and Maison Martin Margiela boots. Hair in a sleek bun, she finished out her travel look with her Balenciaga.

She looked hella good!

Now, you’ve probably noticed that Ms. Kapoor suddenly is wearing a lot of denim and it is a result of reader feedback. Well, at least per Rhea’s latest IG. 😉 While I admit it is nice to see her in these sleek denim and boots looks, I still am waiting to see her in one that felt more laidback and casual. None of these really feel that way. Catch her inside in two more denim look, one in a Whim by Purvi asymmetric white top and another in a checked Dhruv Kapoor long vest.

  1. Who dresses up like this while travelling ? Can’t she wear simple tee and jeans for once ? Pls Sonam stop trying so hard ! We would like to see u keep it simple for once !

  2. If a lady likes to keep it dressy and sophisticated all the times, I ain’t complaining! 😉

I know a lot of people comment on how they dislike this, but I would take it on any given day compared to not caring about what you wear.

    • Yes, I would prefer well dressed all the time over the unkempt-shabbiness that some people show up even with stylists on board. She is part of the show business and that is how it works. For me, I only dislike the times she goes OTT or stuck to the same theme like the cleavage looks she had going on for a while. lol.

  3. Rhea Kapoor can Sonam wear something like what Katrina wore 2 posts below this post? A simple salwar kameez like an ordinary girl? Coming to this post, it may be jeans but these 3 looks are not casual jeans looks.

    • How so?

I am not a huge fan of the Kapoors, but the targeted hatred is uncalled for. This is a fashion blog, so comments should be about their fashion choices. No?

    • What does that mean. What exactly is she doing to be Kardashian-like. She overdresses sure but that is not Kardashian territory nor has she done anything to be called so.

  4. While Sonam does look good here, this is not what we readers had in mind when we asked for jeans look.
With those tunic tops & thigh high boots, she might have worn black leggings & I wouldn’t have known the difference :p

  5. WHO CARES!? Damn, let the girl wear what she wants. You wear jeans and a t-shirt if you want. You guys (readers) are acting like she OWES you something, and she absolutely does not.

  6. I’m sorry, I just don’t understand…this is a FASHION website! Sonam is a celebrity who appears in public and her work demands that she is well put out. So why are people always complaining about her being well turned out or wanting to see her dressed simply? That’s (1) for her house/off-work hours (2) not for this blog!

On these looks: stunning and just the right balance between overdone and underdone for me. There’s visible effort put into them but at the same time, none of these pieces are out of the ordinary or too fancy, fussy and done up to wear. In fact, I’m loving the play of proportions here and if I have to choose, these are some of Sonam’s best looks. Much prefer them to the sarees, anarkalis, lehengas or princessy gowns.

    • Agree…i don’t see the point on visiting a fashion blog and searching simplicity.I thought we are here to check out some high fashion and not regular cotton salwars and tees .Sonam looks great…especially in the first pic.She knows how to experiment…and she has hits and misses…and thats what happens when you experiment.

      • “I thought we are here to check out some high fashion and not regular cotton salwars and tees” The irony is that when P&P sometimes feature someone in a simple airport look or salwar suit, there’s comments like ‘why is this worthy of a feature?’ I understand wanting to see celebs switch it up, but it’s a little irksome when it comes across as a circlejerk and one that is completely contrary to the point of the blog. Oh well.

  7. People need to relax. There is nothing wrong in some people asking Sonam to dress casually for once. That is better than the complicated looks she often does.

  8. I very much like the Whim by purvi look.
Sonam doesn’t feel very naturally stylish to me, compared to some of the other women. But a few looks are pulled off well. I would love to see some individuality in her. She still feels like a clone most of the time.

  9. I’ll take the ‘dressy’ denims over multi-ripped (which others seem to prefer) any day! Sonam looks great in those skinny denims. As we can see, She certainly has the legs for them!

  10. I think the point being made by critics is that fashion is sometimes about simplicity.

‘Just being myself is a fashion statement’ is what Katrina indirectly broadcast when she wore a plain cotton salwar kameez out and about.

Sonam is beautiful in simple clothes, I still remember a stellar appearance in a red/orange maxi at the airport a while ago. To be truly charismatic, she needs to discard the armor of heavy makeup and perfectly coiffed hair.

    • Katrina wore that salwar kameez because she went to a dargah and then was photographed at the airport on her flight back. If Sonam goes to a dargah, I’m sure she’d be dressed in similar clothes as such too…so it’s not so much about messages but choices that are appropriate for time and place. Otherwise, Katrina has been turning up in dressy outfits for her movie promotions and Sonam is for hers as well. Just 2 cents.

    • Exactly..
      What is so good here?

You guys criticised her a bit in the previous post so making for it by over praising as usual.
If people can support her so can others criticizing her. Fashion is subjective so are opinions.

      • Agree, Sonam doesn’t know how to dress. Sonam can’t do dressed down looks or dressed up looks. All she can do is dressing weirdly, complicatedly with cakey makeup ending up looking like clown. Katrina does’ dress up’ and ‘dress down’ looks well.

  11. So Sonam and her team actually reacted/responded to the comments on here/wherever and then changed her style, her so-called “signature style”, to satisfy those comments! How vacuous can some people be!
And to the above comment – “You guys (readers) are acting like she OWES you something, and she absolutely does not” – EXACTLY! She does not and yet she/her team apparently still went ahead and dolled her up with a different look in response to the “people”! SMH!

    • Her team made her wear jeans but they did so too in her ‘signature style’ ! Read rhea’s caption, think through and then comment. She clearly said ‘people wanted her in jeans, and when sonam wears jeans, this is how it’s done’. She is a human being, do you seriously expect her to not read and not be bothered at all by what people are saying ? All celebrities do so and so will u if you were a celebrity. The hate she gets for anything she does is absolutely ridiculous. She may across as a nasty person but a lot of people commenting on her outfits repeatedly despite not liking them come across exactly the same way. I know if I don’t find some celebrity’s choices that great, I just go past that post.

And everyone saying sonam needs to do casual In a tee and jeans, newsflash EVERYBODY does not do casual in jeans! Sonam has done casual plenty times before but her casual is a boho maxi dress. I am a perfectly normal person living in Australia and my super comfortable casual outfit is a dress or a midi. I almost never wear jeans and a tank. Do I dislike it on others ? Absolutely not !
Also the first outfit with coat and jeans and thigh high boots, I wore that as a staple outfit last winter as a CASUAL outfit and so did half the girls on the streets. ‘Chic/nice casual’ but casual nonetheless. Same goes for the third outfit. I hope there’s some perspective there.

    • +1000 You are so right. Good reply to the person who said, “You guys (readers) are acting like she OWES you something, and she absolutely does not”. Rhea and Sonam Kapoor obviously read blogs like these and they are interested in readers comments. They never acted like we don’t care what others want and we will wear what we want. Hence the readers are giving some input, asking Sonam to dress casually in simple clothes for once. What is wrong in that? SMH

  12. Thumbs up to all 3 looks. I think there is versatility and uniqueness given that they are similar separates put together.
Don’t get the comment about Kardashian. totally out of context and uncalled for in my opinion.

  13. I think the major problem is the that she doesn’t look effortless in any of her appearances ever ! And to all the people saying she gets unnecessary hate, well u get treated the way u treat others. If she gives out unnecessary hate based on people’s clothes ,people will react to her the same way

  14. I like the look. Love it when her stylist pairs indian designers with western designers. However, I am not a fan of those boots. Those wedge heels look cheap (although I am sure they are not). I have been liking these looks of her off late. Except for the ferragamo one which looked forced and tacky.

  15. She doesn’t know how to keep it simple and casual! Does she? That’s Sonam, she loves dressing up in designer clothes. And I am not complaining, I guess its the demand of her profession to look good and stylish. We as fans just want to see her do some casual as well .Something that is more relative/every day look.

  16. How can you be mad at her for looking this good? Come on people!! I for one hope it never stops. Screw denim and tshirt, let the rest of the lot keep doing those, you do you Sonam (ahem Rhea) ?
