In Prabal Gurung

At promotions for Neerja on Wednesday, Sonam was seen in a Fall 2016 Prabal Gurung look. Wearing the wool top and silk skirt with gold earrings, she finished out her look with pvc cap toe pumps.

I wish Sonam had not worn this look as is, including wearing the over-sized sleeves over her hand such that it completely covered it. The sweater sure was cheery and fun but I think it would’ve worked better if Sonam had worn it with boyfriend denims. Am not really a fan of the skirt.

  1. What do you mean you wish she hadn’t worn the sleeves on her arms? Where else would they be?!

Anyway, the look worn like that is stupid. Sonam keeps proving more and more than she blindly copies from runways and magazines. That’s not a fashionista. It’s just someone with a lot of money to waste.

  2. OMG…hideous. That’s a horrid sweater. I know shoulder cut outs are gaining popularity but this one is clownish. And…what’s wrong with her feet….tan lines?

  3. Sonam wears high end designer wear but Thalaiva RajniKanth has ‘Style’. 😛
The word ‘STYLE’ belongs to him. Style cannot be bought by money or expensive designer wear.

  4. this outfit nedds a just-threw-it-on sorta vibe which sonam never seems to pull-off. her hair and makeup belongs to a completely different outfit. This one needed a casually tousled lob with nude lips and dark smudgy eye makeup. the shoes look good though. And def no jewellery.

    • Totally agree, the sweater needs a throw-it-on vibe. I can see Kangana or Deepika wearing it the way it should be worn with a pair of white or dark skinny denims. The makeup, the jewellery all looks misfit.

  5. This should firmly be a wtheyyy

For once I agree that this appears to prove that Sonam or her stylist have no actual sense of personal style
To copy a runway look h2t that clearly wouldn’t translate off runway on anyone is CRAZY
Like there’s zero thought applied here

  6. Oh, the things people wear in the name of fashion !! This is one ridiculous outfit and like someone has mentioned , even if Sonam wanted to work this one out she should have kept the styling kinda messy and funky! Not like this where it looks formal neck up and slumber-party-and-quirky-birthday-party-rolled-into-one from neck down !

  7. This is one extremely ugly outfit – def made to be worn on a casual night out with jeans and no fuss – or better still never worn at all but discarded to the trash can .
That dhoti thing is just hideously irredeemable

  8. Awww..it is so hard for you guys to criticize her even though she is wearing such a hideous outfit which is copied from the runway.
‘Ikaun’ is losing it. It was Tanya ghavri and not her after all who made Sonam the fashionista. Wearing expensive Designer outfit doesn’t equal to style. Take amla for instance.

Amala is my ‘Style Icon’ always and forever. Amala is a woman I adore her as a human being, love her as an actress and respect her as an animal rights activist and social service. She wears simple, non expensive outfits and she looks so stylish. She used to be so stylish and modern as an actress during her movie career too.

      • Amala has been so effortlessly stylish even in the tacky 80’s. There are many movies of hers but I do hope you have watched her in Agni Natcharam (Maniratnams movie) and Sathya (With Kamal ji). She rocks those simple synthetic saris with gajra all through the movie. What a sight for sore eyes. <3

        • Amala is a gorgeous, classy and stylish actress from 80’s and 90’s. Yes her style is effortless and elegant. Yeah I saw Agni Natchathiram in Telugu called ‘Gharshana’. I have seen it many number of times. I saw Sathya too. 😀 I try to see all her Tamil and other movies. 😀 There are some I haven’t seen yet. You see her Telugu movies Shiva, Nirnayam, Raja Vikramarka, Agraham, Kirayi Dada, Chinna Babu, etc. Especially watch Shiva and Nirnayam. She looks too beautiful in them. Shiva is RGV’s movie. I hope you must’ve seen her ‘Pushpaka Vimanam’ with Kamal ji, it’s a master piece. 😀

          • The issue is most Tamil movies they dub it in Telugu but Telugu movies they don’t usually dub it in Tamil. 🙁 I understand probably 50% of Telugu and I somehow manage it for Mahesh Babu movies. 😛 I haven’t seen Chinna babu, will watch it. Shiva is amazing – Nagarjun, Amala & Raguvaran as the villain. <3 Also I like Chakravarthy. One of the very few I like with mush & full blown beard. Though he now acts only as Villain in Tamil movies. Pushpaka Vimana-Pesum Padam is like the cult classic. That scene where she is buying the earring, Kamal ji & her expressions, frick, I want to watch that movie now. 😛

          • Same way see her movie ‘Nirnayam’. Amala and Nagarjun look amazing in that. Yes Raghuvaran is a stylish villain. I like him. Great actor he was. In the movie Prema Yuddam also she acted with Nagarjun. It’s not a great movie but songs are good. See her Raja Vikramarka movie, it’s a nice movie, she looks very beautiful in that.

          • Meant to say I have seen others except Chinna Babu. Nirnayam is a good movie(The original Malayalam version Vandam is also nice with Mohanlal & Girija-the same actress who starred in Geetanjali). They make a good pair, no doubt. Director Priyadarshan used to take good movies but now he is in a rut too.

  9. Can’t understand the designer’s logic of making a wool sweater presumably to keep the wearer warm and then providing huge cutouts to keep the person cool. Just doesn’t make sense!

  10. I was reading a post online, these sweater styles were most hedious thing in fashion 2015. You can call it styled by stylist, its copied 100% without a change from runway. The skirt is equally trash. Really bad look. I echo too, its like burning ur money for these trashy clothes in name of designer outfits.

  11. I fail to understand this dress. Why is the yellow satin part of the skirt attached like that?? I wish we get to Sonam in a simple Tee and Jeans someday, like girls her age wear..a dressed down look is all we need, Sonam..i hope you are listening!!

  12. Guys..lol. You are all missing a point here. She’s getting all these hideous outfits for free or probably even paid to wear them. There’s no way she’s gonna listen to you and me and dress up in a casual tee and jeans.

  13. A MAJOR MISTSTEP on Sonam’s part!! but with all the ooh la laaas she’s given us, sometimes a WTF? is okayyy. Maaf kardiya hum ney Sona ko!!

  14. yuck. Prabal probably just handed it to her and she had to wear it as is. She may go OTT but she usually has a basic sense of what’s outright bad. It’s interesting how you guys can never call her look plain bad and just leave it at that, you go out of your way to pick out some positives. Not throwing shade, just find it cute 😛

  15. In one of the I love Lucy shows with Bonus Bucks, Lucy falls in a commercial laundromat machine and comes out of it looking like… well, washed and bleached. Looks like Sonam fell in the same machine.

  16. Forget the outfit it’s not worth mentioning. I’m more worried about the hideously marked and splotchy feet. Spray tan gone awry?
A self proclaimed fashionista with such a basic fail?
