In Payal Khandwala

Wearing Payal Khandwala separates, Sonam attended a press meet for Prem Ratan Dhan Payo on Sunday. As much as I love the top and skirt, the hairdo and choice of jewellery (Suhani Pittie) didn’t quite work for me. Wearing the two together made the top half feel a bit crowded.

What did you think?

  1. I’m a confused here. Is the new trend of the season, face painting? Moreover, why is she always dressed like it’s her wedding?! Yes I do believe she’s fashion forward ,however I feel most of the times she’s not dressed according to the occasion. Is it just me who thinks this way?

P&P, this person is not me & i have used the name Ahot on this site for YEARS!

I LOVE this look, obviously, it is a total win , love the modern take on the princess look.

  2. i thought the opposite. I think the makeup and accessories are perfect. I hate the skirt. What is that yellow band around the center. Looks so out of place. A simple bronze/golden skirt would have added an elegance to the look. The blue, gold and yellow dont go well together at all. Waist up she knocks it out of the park.

  3. Ladies the make up hair and jewelry look very good. The real issue is the monstrosity of tattered fabric she is wearing to cover her upper body. I am big fan of Payal Khandwala’s designs but not this one..

  4. I can imagine poor Mr. Barjatya going… “Oye yaar!! Ab yeh kya pehenke aa gayi….Maine ek family film banayi hai yaar….she plays a goddamned princess in it!! Koi isko Manish malhotra ke standard chiffon sarees la ke dedo bhai….bandh karwao high fashion….is mein toh lag rahaa hai ki woh sholay mein jaya bhadhuri waale role ke liye audition kar rahi hai….hey bhagwaan….”

  5. The accessories are fine – the outfit is very much in WTHeyyy category. That skirt fabric is just not beautiful and that waist band looks random
That top is a monstrosity. It’s one thing to make new silhouettes but yet another to make something terribly unflattering

  6. Wasn’t on board with the white top at first glance. The more I see it the more I’m warming up to this new ‘fusion twist’. The make up and jewelry is bang on. Sonam carries this look really well because it can go all sorts of wrong on someone else.

  7. Maybe, she’s going for a dramatic look, but if she kept the focus more on the skirt instead of keeping the top as long, I think it would have fared better. Both the top and skirt are unique, when together they kinda clash.

  8. I am at a loss , she is beautiful.why does she not wear the right foundation ?Why the effort to look fair .She has lovely complexion .She is the brand ambassador for Loreal. How can they let her do this!

  9. Okay, I give up. I tried really really hard to get onboard with this look trust me. The skirt is pretty garish, the yellow and blue borders look bad. The top could have been salvaged with a better skirt. The accessories are pretty.

  10. She took such superhuman effort for a press meet? I get it, she loves to dress up. Fashion is her thing. She is beautiful too. So why not give this “actor avatar” a miss and go embrace the catwalk instead? She could wear fierce costumes all day and nobody would mind. Maybe it’s because models aren’t quite as worshiped in India as Bollywood stars are. Sigh. Now to go and figure out that outfit…..

  11. dont their faces hurt maintaining those perfect pouts?
Especially the middle pic on the top, she looks scared of any expression or smile escaping!
