In Naeem Khan

When we first heard about Sonam wearing Naeem, we had high hopes. Really high hopes. Unfortunately, by picking this particular gown from the Spring 2012 collection, she totally dashed ’em. Not a fan of the billowing skirt. At all.

  1. I think she looks so pretty. neck up. and although im not a big fan of the dress, she somehow pulls it off. I don’t think anybody else could have pulled it off other than her.

  2. I didn’t like it either but for a different reason: the gown’s proportions are not right. The bodice area is too little and the skirt’s too billowing to make the wearer seem like she’s being swallowed by the gown. And the fringes on the bodice isn’t helping either. It’s just all too much. He needs to exercise some restraint. Same with Prabal Gurung. Jason Wu did a similar ball gown to breathtaking results…

  3. I think the skirt is edgy/beautiful, I especially love the color. It is the tasseled top, that ruins the look. When the skirt has so much volume, I would expect the top to be a classic cut, more fitted

  4. Oh no! She looks like she’s being swallowed whole by the skirt! Love the colours, but such a terrible silhouette. Also, begs the question – when selecting, should the ‘designer’ take precedence over the outfit?

  5. It looks like fine bed linen tucked in here and there to make up for a skirt. Why did she or he have to spoil that lovely top with that skirt

  6. Hmm I can see how theoretically this would seem like a nice outfit but it just didn’t translate when actually worn. Sad but waist up she looks good.

  7. just because the top is lovely and the skirt portion suits her skin doesnt mean it’s meant to be worn! together the top and bottom simply clash.
