In Naeem Khan

We finally have a Sonam sighting and while we can’t say we’re over the top about it, it wasn’t a disappointing one either. Sonam attended the L’Oréal/Chopard party wearing a polka dot Naeem Khan gown, one that we loved on the runway. On her though, it felt overwhelming. And while the Chopard jewels may have been to die for, they pretty much got lost in the gown.

We don’t hate the look because Sonam being Sonam still looked good but here’s hoping we get a jaw-dropping appearance on the red carpet. Been waiting for one (from anyone), pretty badly!

  1. Don’t like the look at all! Naheem Khan had other better dresses. The dress in general is quite overwhelming, from the polka dots to the attempt of a bow. And the bottom part making her tiny head look even tinier. All in all, very amateurish creation (for me)

    • Agreed. The dress would’ve been much better without the bow. Also, Sonam’s neck is very swan-like, her best feature in my opinion. She should avoid wearing scarves and awkward bows.

      • agreed. sonam really has really pretty and delicate features. her neck included. she should have probably worn an off shouldered gown even with a bit of a cleavage, would have helped enhance her clavicles.

  2. Totally underwhelmed. She looks beautiful neck up but the gown doesn’t do anything for her. And yes the jewels are lost in this look. Her last year’s appearance was stunning, and this one is average at best. She has looked better than this on home ground for God’s sake!

  3. Am hoping this was not a very high profile event. I am glad some Indian is wearing Naeem Khan, but this look is quite underwhelming for Sonam, even though the bow is overwhelming her face. Hopes up for the red carpet though.

  4. I would say you are being slightly partial again!
Probably if it would b someone else you would say they looked good neck up!
I think the gown/dress is not only overwhelming the print isn’t looking good on her at all!

  5. I beg to differ. Love the black and white print on her skin color. The bow needs to go, but it’s not disastrous. The peekaboo red accessories are just enough.

  6. The thing is though, and I think most of you miss the point, including P&P. She’s attending a party, not walking down the red carpet. Her outfit is very appropriate for the occasion, being neither over the top, neither too casual.
She’s dressed for the occasions, and I guess we should alter our opinion based on the event she’s attending, instead of our general over exaggerated expectations of her.

  7. the bow is awkward, the print is blah…but the makeup is somewhat of a saving grace. the look could have been much worse if the hair was any different

  8. It isn’t exactly appeasing at first, but its gets on you with time. The more i look at it, the more i like. She’s a fashionista for a reason, she isn’t repetitive, and that reflects here too. You go girl, we’ve had better from you, but this isn’t bad in no way either.

  9. I don’t mind the dress but the print makes it look casual and the I can’t even see the jewels which I thought was the whole point.

  10. Sonam gets to wear Chopard and wears it in a way that they’re barely noticeable. What a waste. I don’t mind the dress all that much.

  12. this print would have worked if dress was of short length minus bows .she looks like one of those dolls in market drowned in crochet dresses …not pretty.
