In Masaba

Sonam taped for a TV show on Wednesday wearing a green printed Masaba sari featuring a balloon sleeve blouse. I do find the print a bit dull but she looked nice nevertheless.

  1. Did she switch to flats after tying the saree with heels ? The print is ugly the blouse is fugly too. Face and jewelery are pretty, those are the only redeeming things.

  2. 99% of Masaba’s designs are cheap looking and unflattering. Synthetic fabric, uninspired prints, tacky cuts. If not for industry friends, she would have been out of business long ago.

  3. I’m sorry I don’t agree…when she dresses strangely in the name of fashion, we all ( moi too) criticize her unrelentingly. Now when she wears a decent saree in sober colours, albeit with a strange blouse, the overall effect is pretty and sweet. So please let us be fair to her!
Her jewellery and makeup is perfect, so let us appreciate this newly minted persona, before it disappears.

  4. Honestly, I’m a bit surprised! I had really liked this saree in the gram pictures shared on Masaba’s handle – the green was coming out beautifully against the warm tones. Here, not so much! Also, I think the saree originally did not have the green border which is looking inexpensive, for the lack of a better word. Just goes to show what correct lighting can do to outfits!

  5. The problem with Sonam is she is the queen of gimmickry.

Like if Kangana were to showcase this saree, she’d probably wear it with a simple green sleeveless blouse, minimum jewelry and make even this very ordinary saree look good.

Sonam on the other hand always chooses to do the opposite. Wear some fancy blouse, top it off with too much jewelry and land up looking like a clown. She has no personality coming through. More like a mannequin being dressed by everyone in town.

    • Exactly right. When she was starting out in Bollywood, her outfit pieces were mixed and matched and the accessories used to be interesting in an unexpected way. Now, her team lifts the exact look from designers’ pages and doesn’t really add personal touches to anything she wears.
