In Masaba

Another day and it was another fresh off the runway outfit for Ms. Kapoor. Love the contrast of the printed blouse with the green. Lust the Suhani Pittie earrings.

P.S. Sonam was styled by Rhea Kapoor and Tanya Ghavri.

    • Yes! I was trying to think of a way to describe it… theres nothing wrong as such… but it is very child like. Unintentionally at that.x

    • Exactly what I was thinking! And not just here – most of Sonam’s looks. She certainly has the “fashionista” reputation – but how much of *her* are we seeing as opposed to a stylist/consultant’s vision and fashion mag rehashes? Most of the time she just looks like how Priya has described her – sloppy and um…unfinished and then the really bad make up…(and this despite the fact that I’m sure fashion is 100% on her mind all the time!) I don’t get it.
Yes, I dig her smile and poise and confidence…I just don’t see any personality…
I know P&P dig almost every look of Sonam’s and they usually are spot on with their other comments so am I missing something here…Well call me fashion backward if you will but I just don’t get the Sonam is a fashion icon thing at all! 🙂

    • ! Has it ever been gone!? The most flattering and beautiful garment and I think many celebs young and old (not to mention us aam janta waale) have been bringing back the sari for ages now 🙂

  3. Those earrings and the bracelet, while good on their own, look too over the top with the contrasting black in the saree and the printed blouse look too over the top. Whiel I like the idea behind her hair and make up the execution is bad. The hair looks like it has way too many products in it and the make-up just looks cakey and horrible.

  4. It’s great to see Sonam’s range of experiments with her clothes. That being said, I like her clothes in this one but the hair/makeup not so much.

  7. love the blouse! quirky and fun! and the Saree is Wthey material. I dont know why you people go gaga abt anything this girl wears. Undeniably she wears most of the outfils well but at times it just doesn’t work.

  8. It’s the makeup that’s the culprit or sonam could hv done it again. Nice saree with a super smart blouse…… N to die for accessories….. Looooved the cuff she’ wearing. I feel the saree is bit shabbily draped n She looks tired in the pic.

  9. Rhea Kapoor can barely style herself. Might be a good idea to first work on her own look before styling her sister. As for Sonam’s look, as much as I think she’s a pretty girl, and as much as I am fan of the ‘Indian’ look, this is definitely not working. A WTHey for me.

  10. she can carry off this saree as she has the height, that black border would look terrible on a short person as it cuts the body in two at a weird place. This is a lovely saree from Masaba however, a change from the usual prints she does – she makes the saree look cool again which can only be a good thing. I’ve read on other sites how ‘terrible’ Sonams makeup is here but I think it looks fine. With the HD cameras used these days and such a closeup shot I doubt anyone would be looking so hot but Sonam still looks great.

  11. What is there not to like ? The sari and jewellery are fabulous , the clutch complements the sari perfectly, her hair and make up is great and above all Sonam carries it all perfectly and effortlessly!! Really Beautiful…

  12. It’s like they are all fighting for attention – the eyeliner, the loud blush, the earrings, the cuff, the green portion of the saree.

  13. I’m sorry but most often than not, Sonam comes off looking comical. The sari looks much better on the model; she makes it look chic whilst Sonam just looks odd. The hair and earrings are unnecessary.

  16. At first glance I thought it was Soha Ali Khan(thanks to the hairstyle) then I saw the outfit and went …wow Soha finally got a stylisht and then I went oh wait a min that’s Sonam, that explains the great outfit.

  17. the bottom half looks VERY awkward with the green. Looks like a newbie in fashion school decided to put random colors together without taking under consideration if they will actually work together or not.

  18. I AM SHOCKED AT ALL YOU PEOPLES TASTE. WHATS WITH YOU HIGH HEEL? ITS HIGH HELL FOR SONAM.
SHE LOOKS LIKE A CLOWN GONE WRONG.
Please dont think that she has been tagged best dress(since nothing else to her career) so all her looks become statement.
    This is just god-awful UGLY.

  19. Umm…looks like she’s channeling her inner Soha Ali Khan with that hair-do! And I just don’t get that saree–the color contrast is a bit much. And is that black velvet at the bottom? Gosh, when did velvet sarees become high-fashion?!

  20. You know when someone is redefining fashion when they get 67 comments hate it or love it have to admit it has a reaction, makes you sit up and look, think question.. Personally I thnk its super! the whole look , the earrings.. agree the black doesnt go with the green and personally masabas not my style.. but this is a STyle Statement.. it exudes personality and the willingness to break the system i dont know how people are saying she does not have personality.. she does not fit into pre conceived category that exists shes making her own category probably thats why you feel she lacks personality but trust meeeee PERSONALITY doesnt get bigger than this..
