In Dolce & Gabbana

Comment image 43

At the launch of her personal mobile app over high-tea, Sonam was seen in a strapless Dolce & Gabbana gown. The geek in me considered the event and is quite perplexed over the outfit choice. This was after all a mobile app launch but looking at Ms. Kapoor you’d think she was meeting the Queen for tea.

I guess I was looking for a more youthful look than the formal one she chose. Why not separates with a quirky print? Even older people are having more fun these days. Case in point, this IG profile!

Did you also find the gown too formal for the occasion?

  1. Payal and Priyanka, I think you both have no sense of fashion. Look at your instagram pics and decide. You are no judge to anyone.

    • Wow that is so incredibly rude and totally uncalled for. This is a fashion blog, its where you put your subjective opinion about something and other people do the same. Thats is..its for entertainment. There is really no need to post stuff like this – I mean think to yourself, what did you contribute by just writing that? Nothing. Just said something acidic and negative with no purpose. Its so negative and careless. That what you just did there is everything thats wrong with our world at the moment.

    • Hey Leela, 2004 called and asked for its Mean Girls back. So please go back and spread the negativity there.

Sorry P&P, you may not even post this but i had to say it.

      Kbye!

    • Gosh and you are speaking this on Payal and Priyanka’s platform! Really I mean really! Care to explain why so miffed!?! FYI it is a fashion blog and judgments or views or opinions, whatever you wanna call them, ought to be passed. If you aren’t interested in them there is an unfollow button, be sure to click that rather than venting out your indignant views here.

    • +1 2 3 4 5 6 7 I always thought of you two as very fashionable people! But I was so wrong! Bloggers need to do a better job for themselves first 😉

    • The question then remains, why would come to this page to read someone who has no sense of fashion? And then actually bother to comment on it. Quite a waste of time non?

    • Leela, I think (I actually am pretty sure) you have no manners. Look back at your comment and decide. P&P don’t owe you anything to warrant this rudeness.

    • Sorry but Leela you sound like a disgruntled celeb with a grudge against this blog for not praising your previous style-outings. Are you? I hope not coz that will be quite sad. So, you see, you are not contributing anything to this blog. The blog stays away from any kind of personal attack to a celeb or anyone so why should you. I am sure you can be quite constructive in your criticisms of the blog.

I see that I am quite late in replying to Leela as already there has been bombardment of replies to the comment.

    • Get off your high horse, juvenile of you to bring in their personal life but even then, do you expect their ig to be filled with body con dresses and duck lips. Sorry they are not your average Kylie jenner, the pics look great. They just got a new follower.

  4. Ok if they have no sense of fashion , why are you following them and reading their blogs??? Don’t let the door hit you on your way out ?
I might not always agree with their choices but there is a reason why so many people are reading their blog and following them on Instagram …if u don’t like it , don’t read it. Simples 😉

    • Gah! P&P just can not win! You criticize Sonam, and you have no sense of style to “judge” her. You praise her and you’re on her payroll. All these comments are almost comical now. I bet you girls have a daily end-of-the-day sessions now where you just read all these comments over a glass of wine and laugh your asses off lol

      • Woww this is rude! Someone mentions a pay cheque other finds something funny it! Gahhh What happened girls why sound so insolent everytime!? I understand you might not like Sonam but why do you always drag the bloggers in between and pass mean remarks!?
And Payal and Priyanka why do you guys not censure such a kind of comments? While I think your policy of not censoring everything everytime is wise but these kinda comments have become so banal on Sonam’s post that it becomes really irritating to read.

  5. Well Sonam is as Sonam does. Why look for rationality anywhere in this? Saying that, while I personally don’t think she’s overdressed, I definitely think its a missed opportunity. This dress is too sweet, girly. I’d have prefered something absolutely FIERCE. I mean our girl’s gone ahead and launched her very own app. No actress, anywhere, has even thought of something like this (that I know of) : speaks a lot about her self-confidence, originality, tech-savviness, and smarts, that love her or hate her, she knows, people want to know more about her. I’d have loved to see her in an outfit that shows these qualities rather than this helpless-disney-princess outfit. And I have to say, while I don’t follow many celebrities’ IG and twitter, I’m enamoured enough about her now to be a part of the #Sonamniverse

    • I don’t think there is anything original about this. The Kardasian and Jenner clan has been there and done that. I guess Sonam is keeping up with the Kardasians! 🙂

      • agreed, and i remembered that a split second after i posted, but felt too lazy to edit. however they are not really actresses. plus it’s not done by too many. Point being, it’s new and bold enough for an (indian?) actress to do. Her clothes choice could also have been bolder.

  6. I am not surprised really, she is a fashion overkill. Having said that though, she looks good here but I wish it was a different event.

  7. I think one of the reasons for her dressing like this is her app is promoted to be a lifestyle app – check the launch pics – it’s a high tea event – so guess she is dressed appropriately for that . The dress is lovely though not withstanding the event in question .

  8. Ok, I was a Sonam-style fan in her early days as a celeb. Now not so much. I too thought that this was event inappropriate but I have second thoughts. What is this app all about? Is it some kind of fashion line thing or something about her? If it is, then that must be her line of reasoning for the styling. She is trying to showcase what she is like or what she looooves dressing up in.

  9. Jeez! Let her wear what she wants!! Who are you to decide? There is NO such thing as age appropriate dressing, young can dress like old and old can dress like young. Your comments are incredibly ageist. She looks amazing !

  10. I don’t have a problem with the outfit for the event as I think this is her signature style. In fact it is a nice outfit and she looks good. My gripe is the weird thing thats happening around her upper bust in pics 1 and 2.
Also, to the person above who insulted P&P not sure if you are Sonam’s PR, fan, family or Sonam but this is a fashion blog and we all have different opinions on what works and what does not. It is harmless fun. Sonam markets herself as a fashionista and thats probably why we nitpick her style more than other actresses. P&P are just doing their job if you disagree just say why, no need to personally attack them.

  11. love it! soft and summery! Love the fall of the gown and the dewy, fresh makeup! Event appropriate or not, she looks beautiful!

  12. A girl in a pink dress can’t launch an app? Are you saying that technology is not meant for girls in princess clothes? I think Sonam was just trying to be who she is- a smart tech savvy princessy chica! This look matches the look of her app- all pink and beautiful. The decor of the event was also all pink and cute.
