Doing Black And Gold

Well, it is a face off that we think Sonam will win (by a majority, we suspect) but we do love Sabina for moving away from florals!

We have to pick both on this one. You?

  1. I saw her (Sonam) getting interviewed in this…and it made rhe shoulders look a bit…big
BUT OVERALL- awesome, love her shoes
also, I too think of Sonam as a fashionista, but a stlye icon? I think not
she’s still a bit awkward (as this pic demonstrates)

  2. sonam has my vote, she has kept it simple, flat and non-blingy earings. Sabina looks good, but the earing, bangles and the huge sleeves overpower her figure.

very 80s chic but with a modern twist..
ps – her hair looks GOOD.. a HUGE change from the curls!!

  4. Well, well, I certainly think Sonam Kapoor is the new style icon… earlier, it was Preity Zinta. 🙂

@ Surbhi: Just curious, but what exactly IS a harsh jaw?

  5. I actually like prafer Sabina in this… First off, Sonam looks too much like an ‘Estelle’ jewelry ad from the 90s… and Secondly, she’s looking too old here… I like Sabina’s dress, I could have done without the bangles AND the earrrings (pick one, hon) but I think a loot of jewelry is Sabina’s look, and if makes her happy, ours is not to question why… But all in all, I think this look is making Sonam seem older beyond her years…

  6. How Sonam can be super stylish while keeping it so simple? Am sure she has a personal stylist. She looks fab in her pictures and dresses up amazingly well. One of the very few people for whom you wait to see what they are wearing next and how they’re gonna look! In one word Stunning!

I respectfully disagree 🙂 She dresses very well, but she doesn’t set trends or anything of the sort (neither did Preity).
Madonna is a stlye icon, Posh is a stlye icon, Dita Von Teese is a style icon, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Jackie O etc.
Sonam might be one day- but not yet.

  8. I agree Pooja!! I always wait to see what Sonam is going to wear next!! She is such a surprise everytime! She looks simple yet stunning. Sabina looks good too…but too much gold.

I am guessing a harsh jaw is a jaw where you can see the bones hanging out on the sides. I have been told that it is not something appealing when I was young coz I have a strong jaw. Jaws are pretty when the bones are not hanging out- aka egg shaped face! I find this concept quite stupid…so are all the people who have small eyes and strong jaws not beautiful??

  11. Sonam looks very sophisticated here, and imo she is becomming a style icon, mainly because she does actually have her own style and does not follow the rest.

I know for a fact that she does not have a stylist, unless thats what you call shopping with your sister and friends these days 😉

  12. @mizmoonlight, I agree, Sonam’s look is too 80s. I think its because of the hair and the gold accessories.
Prefer Sabina here, she looks very casual and sophisticated.

  13. @FDFP/K… whoever said harsh jaw ppl are not beautiful?? Is Sonam not pretty? Its just that I prefer softer features on anyone.. personal choice.

Altho in some photos a lovely strong/harsh jaw can do wonders..

  14. I like sonam… she is such a pretty and stylish that she can pull off anything.. If I my self had to choose a dress for me, I would choose sabina’s as it easy to pull off… sabina has come a long way

  15. I agree with Pdaervo ( btw I like ur comments :-)), I guess a style icon shd be more then just putting together clothes and accessories and carrying them off fabulously.
In India I guess stars in films rather then out of them are still the biggest trendsetters whether you love them or hate them, remember the sadhana cut, sharmila’s bouffants, chandni look , devdas jewelery 😉
