In Chola By Sohaya

At an art show, Sonam sported separates from Chola with silver jewellery from Amrapali, a Ferragamo bag and Tod’s sandals.

In case you didn’t know, Chola was started by Sohaya who is the woman behind many of Neha Dhupia’s looks.

Coming back to Ms. Kapoor, she looked great in the separates even though I was on the fence about the sandals. I would’ve preferred gladiator style flats.

  1. The oxidized kasu mala looks awesome. The dress is interestingly nice but only with her height she can pull of that kind of volume. Agree about the shoes, they are pretty ugly.

  2. I like this look except for the shoes. The dress has an interesting shape – but credit to her for pulling it off. The color and the jewelry is gorgeous.

  3. Every time she tones down the make-up, especially the lipstick, she looks good! And silver jewelry in particular looks really good on Sonam. Love everything about this!

  4. I don’t think that Sonam can pull off these roomy silhouettes. She actually has a lovely shape, but these types of outfits just seem SO unflattering on her.

Btw, Payal & Priyanka, I feel forced to second-guess every single word whenever I comment nowadays because you seem to be overly stringent about what kind of comment get through, even if happens to be a perfectly reasonable one. And I don’t leave rude hate comments. Just the other day, I commented on a PC magazine cover saying that they seemed to have unnecessarily photoshopped her face, and even this was taken away. I wonder why! Comments about the unhealthy, dangerous obsession with being skinny in Bollywood/society in general are removed, and yet ridiculous comments such as “YUCK she makes everything look cheap” get published.

It’s a bore to have to filter one’s thoughts in such an absurd manner so as not to leave room for any kind of real discussion. Why is there a comments platform in that case? I’d be surprised if this gets through (although, again, there’s no reason it shouldn’t!). I’m just disappointed.

    • Except for your one comment that mistakenly stayed unapproved, I don’t see anything else recently that didn’t pass the bar. Yes, comments talking about a person’s body will get censored like yours did. That policy will not change.

      • And yet, like I mentioned, comments about how “cheap” a person makes everything look get approved. Or indeed, like someone mentions below, calling someone a “maid/bai”. If we’re going to start censoring comments, then we ought to do it right.
I will simply keep my thoughts to myself from here onwards, or reserve them for a different site. Thanks.

        • We try to do our best with the comment policy. Some comments do get through because we are skimming through many and miss some, some because we don’t think it violates our policy, and some just because as acerbic as the comment be, it speaks more about the commentator than the subject.

We will not get it 100% right and we don’t have that much time on our hand to sit here and justify why some went through and some didn’t. We wouldn’t be able to provide content on the blog if got down to that.

    • Bozo, I think its mostly been only cosmetic surgery or (i’m guessing) body size/shape related comments that they block, which I think is pretty good.

I’d mentioned something about a surgery (nose job I think) sometime back which I realized later wasn’t approved.
These should actually be of no consequence on a fashion blog.

Although… a nose job would sorrrta kinddaa fall in this space, no PnP ? 😛
It’s too in our face (pun intended 🙂 ), and done purely for vanity.

  5. She looks good. Her outfit looks comfy and wearable yet not dowdy. I like the color of the dress and love the jewellery. Shoes not much.

  6. She looks lovely – I see the point about the shoes but given the volume of the dress, perhaps she tried to add some length by wearing heels to even out the proportions. Regardless, the hair and makeup is on point and love the necklace. Isha’s Verdict: Gorgeous!
