Sari Style

Wearing what looked like a sari by Masaba, Sonam Kapoor was photographed at a recent wedding reception. Though not a fan of crushed silks, Sonam had us at the color.

Update: It’s not a Masaba.

  1. well in fashion you always say “dress according to your body type” … in this case I would say she needs to drape a saree according to her body type. Although not bad, she can do better.

  3. The appraisal is spot-on. The colors are gorgeous on her but a smoother fabric would have let them pop even more. She looks beautiful but I wish her blouse was a more contrasting color.

  4. She looks very pretty. I like the casual way she drapes her saris. I only feel something is not right with that blouse. Does it match the sari at all?

Thank god for no boob show.
I wonder how ppl have support when the blouse is almost shoulder less. As in strapless bras the only soluntion ?

  7. I love this saree and the look on her. I think the blouse goes well with the saree because it is the same color as the narrow border..i’m glad she didn’t go matchy matchy with the saree, and went with a pair of dangling earrings rather than a necklace..I like the bag too…i think such jholas add a classic touch to the outfit..i remember seeing my grandma use them when I was a kid and it’s nice to see it paired with traditional oufits rather than the usual blingy clutches.

    • This blouse color is perfect. Matching blouse would have made this look a little gaudy. She looks lovely and elegant. The earrings are to die for.
And somebody else mentioned “same smile” I wonder how you can change the way you smile. Nothing wrong with her smile, it looks radiant as always.

  9. i think a purple blouse would have been fabulous with the saree. also, while i like this view of the saree, would be interested to see the portion where the red and purple borders merge.

blouse could have been better, as in she already has broad shoulders, but never mind…
    she is looking radiant…

  11. I am loving it ! thats the best way to go traditional..splurging on vibrant colors and skipping the unnecessary bling..there are a few things that could be changed..but she still makes it work so good..and whats not to love in that radiant smile ! 🙂

  12. I want to give her a hug just for not wearing one of those atrocious and tacky filmy blouses (ala Priyanka Chopra and the like). Bravo Sonam!

She is looks fresh and lovely.

  13. The saree looks cheap and garrish…the color too bright and the crushed silk lending to a weird shimmer. I do however love the cut of the neckline on the blouse… she looks awfully comfortable in the saree and with that megawatt smile…regardless of what she wears, she rocks!

  14. sometimes she dresses up like she is 40 or something…….why the HELL can’t she dress of her own age??? i mean there will be a time when she would HAVE to dress like a 40 year old woman!
