In Shalini James
At the premiere of Ira’s movie Aisa Yeh Jahaan, Sonam (her Aisha co-star) went desi wearing a printed Shalini James angarkha-style dress and short pants with jootis, silver jewellery and a black bag.
As much as I love the jewellery, I wasn’t a fan of the dress. Also, the black bag felt rather jarring against the rest of the look. A regular potli would’ve looked far better with the dress. What say you? Like her desi look?

k one time she looks good and you say that. it looks earthly and simple, refreshing coming from sonam. the only thing is the dress should have been longer.. as it is, it looks like she is wearing salwar and missing a pant. but other than that, looking good.
Plus one
Its almost like a trick question (comment) to make us say the reverse :))…
I think it’s not Angarkha style dress, she wore an Angarkha Anarkali without churidhar and dupatta.
I don’t like that type of dressing.
Yes it seems like she forgot her Churi. The one person who can wear this & look gorgeous in it would be Dia. 😀 In fact I think Dia has donned a similar look earlier.
I just cant help but think of the missing churidaar. Absolutely love the hair and the earrings (could have skipped the neck piece).
Like Ana pointed, the length of the Angarkha doesnt make it very convincing as a dress.. The length should have been a few inches longer to make it look like a maxi or she should have worn churidaars with the length as it is..
Other than that she’s looking very sweet & pretty.. And loving that neckpiece..
she looks really nice in this…but I can’t help looking for the missing churidar!
One of the few dresses from around this site that id wear in a heartbeat. Such understated elegance to it
Jewelry le lo jewelry. Yeh necklace le lo madam, bohot acha hai!! 😛 Mere bag mein thodi aur bhi hai! 😛
Without the churidaar pyjaami, I can’t make either heads nor tails of the outfit. Also, the neckpiece feels too excessive for the look that could have been created soft and ethnic. That’s sonam for you, always overdone! 🙂
Ya she had time and thought to wear so much jewelry but not the churi pyjama:(
That could have been eliminated for a soft and ethnic look****. What am I typing! -_-
@Sapphire: Agree totally!!!!
Case of missing churidaar.
I wish she would have worn a churidaar. Otherwise the rest of the looks is quite sweet. Love the necklace.
Love it! Looks like a maxi dress. Another bag would be better.
