And She Is Back

Such a pretty face. But the clothing choices? Mostly eyesores. Its a shame really!

  1. I fail to see what’s wrong with this.. although maybe it’s a little big on her.

I have a hard time saying anything bad about desi clothes unless they are too revealing or too gaudy (like a couple of things that Vidya Balan has worn in the past).

    • But agree with you on her outfit. It’s pretty and reasonable. The comments of this site’s owners are starting to appear cliched-the sort you can read in any fashion magazine. I guess fashion is more about conformity than I’d initially thought-conformity to an idea dictated by the Vogues of the world.

  4. She just doesn’t seem well turned out EVER!! I have seen people wear desi clothes with so much finesse, non-celebs at that! It wasn’t too long ago that I was in Delhi and imho the avg junta there just knows how to dress, their wardrobe choices (color, cut, size(!)) seemed impeccable and I think no self-respecting, desi-clothes wearing woman there will be caught dead in this “aunty” combo. I fell allover in love with salwar-kameez and saris after my Delhi visit and am appalled that people like Sonali who should be style conscious (it is part f their job whether they agree or not) don’t think twice about donning salwars cum churidars, which seem too short anywayz. I think she can take a tip or two from any woman on Indian streets!

  6. Cut that woman some slack!!!
This dress is not that bad. It’s a common color combination, and it’s looking fine. Nothing special, but nothing wrong either.
I actually feel sorry for her because of her Sawariyan disaster that was on every tabloid’s 3rd page..which I am sure was just an accident. She represents the ‘learner’ group- women who are pretty, talented, hard-working but hv to work on their fashion sense. Can’t you guys be a little nicer to her?
The woman is a single, upper middle class working woman who is quite good at what she does (her art films hv been to many international festivals). She is at least better than the good-for-nothing fashionistas who don’t earn a penny but spend their husband’s money to buy labels. We need to distinguish between these two types of women.
