Shruti gave us a rather offbeat look at the Filmfare Glamour & Style Awards that made for a very interesting look. The tiered Kristy De Cunha gown with the halo braid and all the accessories (the Leiber clutch and Outhouse earrings) at first felt a lot to take in at first glance but the more we looked at it, the more we liked it. A lot of it also had to do with the fact that Shruti wore the look with ease without being overwhelmed.
I do think though, she should’ve saved this look for a music related red carpet event.

I get the whole Frida Kahlo inspiration going on here, but IMO while channeling an icon it’s important to combine a few inspired elements with clean, basic ones or else it looks costumey and not in the best of ways. The only saving grace for Shruti was, as Payal said, the ease with which she carried herself.

Love how gutsy she is . Love how she can make the most difficult look come across with such ease. Her attitude is her style and that was exactly what she was showing at the STYLE and glamour awards. Am I the only one totally digging the quirk in this?

She is dressed like an attention seeking teenager… Hate it! But kudos to her attitude~
not an easy look to pull and she does it so well. she looks effortless and comfortable even in a dramatic gown like this. this girl carries herself with so much confidence.

Fantastic. What a body and skin tone! She doesn’t shy away from what she likes and has the attitude & personality to carry this look. Shruti is the only one among the celebs (actor or otherwise) of South who can carry western with such elan.
Agreed! She looks very eccentric here but in a good way.
This look isn’t bad barring the tulle part of the gown…also, her attitude and cheerful disposition has a lot to do with salvaging the look as is.
