Song Spotting

As is the current norm, every Telugu origin movie includes a dance number and in the one that stars Janhvi and Ramcharan also includes Shruti in it as well. Shruti is seen wearing a short lehenga from Torani and Janhvi in a bandhan one from Jigyam.

Catch Janhvi’s pics inside.

P.S. What I don’t get is how all these songs sound the same and look the same. At first glance, I thought that was Sreeleela and not Shruti.

Shruti Haasan in Torani

Janhvi Kapoor in Jigyam

  1. Oh!! I am so embarrassed by these horrid numbers. They make me cringe. And you will soon see reels being made on this number.

Thankfully, you dont understand the lyrics Payal…but those too, to your point, are very similar in all the double entendre.

I wish there would be a media storm like they had for a Nora number in a Hindi movie recently and get these pathetic marketing ploys to stop in all movies.

Why does it always need to be so suggestive and vulgar. Really stupid that this item number trend still continues in this day and age. Super demeaning

    • Seriously! Anybody man & woman who partakes in these vulgar nonsense should never talk feminism, rights, respect, body, etc etc. all of bw.

    • “Item songs” went from slightly risqué dance numbers like Kajra Re and Sheila ki Jawani to full blown obscene acts. Watching Pushpa’s peelings song in theater, surrounded by friends and family, was an absolute nightmare. Never cringed harder. This one’s worse. What even are those moves??

      • I absolutely hated Sheila Ki Jawani as well. Nothing empowering or sexy about being half naked and dancing in front of hundreds of men and for men in the theaters. Worst is these movies being released with U certificates and these songs playing in Indian restaurants where young children can watch this garbage.

        • I can’t disagree with that but Sheila ki Jawani was bordering on vulgar compared to today’s crap. This one, for example, shot a mile past acceptable.

  2. Made for the masses because thats where the money is for most movies 🙂 . You would know these movies exist only because of such songs and hook steps and the over promotion .
Oh Nora’s song was outright disgusting and enraging and the movie team had no shame in justifying it saying thats not what the song .People werent stupid though this time . Even the masses were pissed

  3. I am not for/against these item songs, but what I don’t get is why were these celebrated in Hindi when a series of same-looking songs with same’ looking steps came out and made this popular (Chikni Chameli, Munni Badnam..etc etc.) and even continue to this day in the same style, but the Telugu ones are commented on being the same old same old (which they are). My point is not against these being called same old same old, but why this different metric between Bollywood and Telugu songs? Just curious..

  4. I thought Shruti looked good. As far as the cringy “item numbers” in addition to all the above comments, they are a money pull and for actresses a quicker way to make big bucks. Few hours of shooting and pockets full!
