In Rajat Tangri
Wearing a Rajat Tangri teal gown, Shilpa attended the Swades Foundation Charity auction event on Thursday evening finishing the look with a monogrammed Leiber clutch. The runway version featured a plunging neckline, but Ms. Shetty’s version featured an off-center weave pattern.
The problem, though, is that with between the very structured bustier style cups and the weave pattern, all eyes were drawn to it and not the beading of the skirt. Not to mention, the top half just looked a bit odd.
With a bit of double sided tape, Ms. Shetty could’ve rocked the original version. Am surprised she chose the modified one.

The lack of the shiny belt buckle (model’s dress features a belt) bothers me more than the altered bust. But she still manages to looks pretty good.
The defined breast cups are horrific. How did she step out of the house looking like that?!
+1! That added fabric makes it look terrible!
+ + totally agree and the monogrammed clutch looks tacky!
Totally agree. Look at the last two pictures seems she has realised it and thinking the same thing.
Shilpa looks fabulous. Love her look head to toe. Good to see that she changed her hairstyle.
The structured bust line looks fine with the deep neckline on the model and the belt also adds to the look.
The altered/repaired neckline and structured bust on shilpa reminds of the 70’s/80’s sari blouse and looks like she forgot her dupatta at home.
Lol, Katori blouse, I think that’s the right phrase for the bust on this gown. Gruesome. And this from a veteran on the red carpet.
The phool patis at the bottom are just so tacky…..also she needs to ditch that clutch…..eww
why cant the designers make sure the embroidery they use doesn’t pucker up the fabric. That is just plain awful.
She looks lovely with that hairstyle. Too bad that she chose the altered gown. Yes, she definitely could have rocked the original neckline. *Sigh*
First of all this color does not photograph well….Next This should have been a wth…This is a complete disaster…Shilpa if you are reading this…please keep things simple..You are so pretty but you always overdress…Also, stay away from shiny/blingy stuff…they look tacky on you…
If the intention behind the alteration on Shilpa’s gown was to take the attention away from the cleavage area, it’s doing the exact opposite by squishing it together and looking like those old conical hindi film saree blouses from the 80’s. The color of the dress is nice and she looks great face up but that’s about it!
Agree with the highly structured cups – very distracting. But, don’t think the original version is very appropriate for a charity event. She should have just fixed the cups or chosen a different outfit altogether. Minus that she looked fabulous.
loved the color of the dress….hair and make up….
now..neg.
firstly, the structured cups look tacky, secondly, the dress is altered at neckline side so that it doesn’t look too deep…and cleavage is not seen; but the alteration is done badly, look at last two pics..looks ugly, fit of the dress is not good…
Awful looking dress but God! does she look beautiful! She looks like a 16 yr old.
Terrible outfit. No redeeming factor.
What an awful fit what an awful colour
I don’t like the dress. That said it at least looks edgy and modern on the runway. With the coverup and minus the belt, it is just another tacky, shriveled dress.
Right…would it have killed her to wear the original? The modified neckline is a tricky one. Depending on the angle it appears stylish or like a lousy patch-up job. That belt WAS a nice touch. Drooling over her clutch.
