Sari Style
Shilpa and her family sought blessings at Andheri Cha Raja where she was seen in a colorful Priyal Prakash sari paired with silver jewellery from Amrapali.
She looked great but I have to admit, the old school prude in me would’ve preferred a sleeved blouse. Must be all those years of hearing from the parental units to cover-up while at a place of worship. 😛

Doesn’t she look beautiful !!! She looks lovely in the sari, but yeah a sleeved blouse would have been apt at a place of worship.
She looks beautiful but….wow waaay overdressed for seeking blessings- designer saree, jewelry, professional hair, full blown make up!! Sometimes I feel, you have to give it to these celebs- for constant effort to look so put together. They don’t seem to have an ‘off’ day.
+100. Way too much effort. Sometimes you gotta give your skin some breathing time.
She looks fabulous and APPROPRIATE! Sleeve or no sleeve! Lets not please!! -reinforce these “dress code” impositions on us women anymore, It only marginalizes us even more!! She looks lovely, ‘indian’ and appropriate for a pooja/temple.
While wearing a blouse itself is some century old concept in India or rather British enforcement, we can afford to give the Victorian prudishness some rest. 😛 She looks gorgeous.
Yup, i remember my mom telling me that ladies did not wear blouse till early 20th century. Its the British raj that made us prudish
+++++++1 completely agree
why does she always feel the need to be so loud in her styling? Be it in the for of colour, design or bling. Just not my cup of tea. She’s maxed out on her tackiness quotient for this week.
A sleeved blouse because its a place of worship?? Firstly your blog does a really shitty job of presenting Indian fashion, but that is what you guys think you know best, so please continue this charade. However when you decide to be preachy, that’s when you’re crossing the line. stop the moral policing you twits.
Keeping it classy eh Aanchal?
P&P – why on earth would you even allow this comment?
Cuz it is directed to us. 😛
Noted.
P.S: We have never claimed to present Indian Fashion to the discerning masses. All we do is cover Indian celebrities’ sartorial choices. Just saying.
Why silver jewellery with this look?
Exactlyyyyyy!!! I think everyone was soooo consumed in the appropriateness of the blouse sleeve discussion that no one saw how incongruous the silver jewellery looks with this entirely yellow-toned look….
Why oh why is a few inches of skin from a woman’s shoulder to her mid-arm considered offensive? How absolutely silly!
She looks lovely and I wish she’d dress like this more often
As for the cover up comment, lets please start with the Purohits and ask that they atleast minimally cover their bare torsos before the suggested dress code is rolled out. I think she looks quite decently draped….Peace :)….
If women have right to go to temple in a sleeveless blouse, then all these celebs have right to dress however they want off screen. Why comment them and criticize their dressing daily with harsh words like tacky, blingy, dated, boring, same old, behenji, aunty, granny, unkempt hair, scraggly hair, horrendous, horrible and so many other ways. If no body is criticizing at our dressing, then we should also not criticize the celebs dressing. In that case this comment section is of no use.
Totally agree with u payal on the blouse note…the look had been upgraded with a sleeved blouse….but but why they carry so much makeup at worship place…can’t they just luk normal sometime..
God loves you, even if you walk in but naked. Ask the Jains.
BUTT
Touché’. But then again only MEN. 😛
prude is right. seriously P&P expected you to be more sensible! hope there are no further doses of indian culture from you
I also feel that the blouse comment was not required and I did not see this coming from you. It is upto an individual how they would like to dress. How you pray is none of anyone’s business.
That said, it is also damn hot in Mumbai!!
