Ganesh Puja celebrations saw Ms. Shetty in two bandhani looks, first in a yellow Punit Balana sari and then in a pink suit by Pink City featuring a bandhani dupatta.
Have a favorite between the two? I loved the sari instantly. As for the suit, I couldn’t quite figure out if the dupatta is pre-stitched the way it was.

That yellow saree is pretty but the blouse, border and belt make it weird. The dupatta is definitely stitched…so clear in the first two pics.
I’m always reminded of a Barbie doll when I see her and Barbie’s pre-stitched clothing especially comes to mind…Duppattas sewn on, the pallu and pleats stitched or buttoned and nary a thread out of place. She looks great, sure! But fashion-wise, so much tailoring for such regular garments looks very strange…almost like she doesn’t want to handle her clothes in any way once she has worn them.
This is so strange to be dressed like this for ganesh chaturti. Utterly 90s Bollywood, yourself dislike the loud colors and the style. Tacky.
That belt is crap
She looks stunning in the Pink city dress.
I love the saree…so beautiful…
Something about her stance in the yellow saree is striking. Don’t like the jewellery. But she looks good.
The sari had me in the colour.
Oh God! This after the Raw Mango look is a real low.
The quintessential Maharashtrian Nath has many variants which in olden days could help identify where the wearer came from, trust Shilpa Shetty to take that beautiful piece of jewellery and make it look so cheap and tacky. Very filmy style of dressing, it’s sad that this beautiful festival has been turned into a show .
well said
Whenever there’s a Shilpa Shetty sighting, I go back to the 90s….. and I’m in college, and she looks smashing!!!!
This extra looks are so Shilpa. She cannot let go of her fascination for gaudy tacky clothes. The sari might have looked fine had she toned it down a bit by ditching the belt. She is the only one I know who has a thing for prestiched saris and now stitched dupattas too.
Earlier it used to be weddings and Diwali and now Bollywood has taken to dressing to the hilt for Ganapati also. I kind of miss those simple festive clothes that added to the homely atmosphere rather than garish display of wealth.
Horrendous both looks. that yellow saree seems like the family bought the entire than of fabric and everyone got something stitched in it. We did that among the many siblings, cousins and sometimes even parents. smh. to call this designer is the biggest scam. LOL.
Shilpa Shetty – tacktastic 24/7 365 days a year. It’s always a costume party for her.
Couldn’t agree more!
I’m constantly amazed at how she finds these OTT gaudy outfits every single time.
