In Masaba

While filming on the sets of her television show, Shilpa picked a Masaba sari. I don’t quite like it as much as I should… Something about the sari-jewelry combination screams soaperstar to me.

If the sari looks familiar, Bipasha wore a version of it here.

  1. that shiny nylex or some kind of artificial polyester material is cringe worthy, my biggest gripe about the Masaba line. Attack on the eyes made worse by the atrocious kyunki saas bhi bahu thi styling…bleaugh.

  2. The colours in the saree jar and what material does masaba use for these saris, looks like a shiny china silk and gives the sari a cheap appearance, and she should have skipped those bangles.

  3. there’s a complete disconnect between the sari and the styling. the accessories (bindi, jewellery) scream traditional, the sari is unconventional. that said, i really don’t care for the shiny, cheap-looking fabric. (and i usually like Masaba designs and even have one of her pure silk saris).

  4. I actually dont mind the bangles but the hair needs a complete do over. Also, her makeup should have been applied with a slightly lighter hand.

  5. And what exactly is wrong with soap star style? It’s a personal preference, just like most indian’s cringe upon seeing no necklace with sari’s

  6. I think she looks gorgeous. Lovely color combo on the sari, though, yes, a bit shiny. Much nicer than the one on Bips–her’s was much too sheer.

  7. the bangles make this look super tacky. IT doesn’t fit the modern vibe of the sari. On anyone else this would have been awful, Shilpa at least makes it bearable

  8. The funky sari and traditional jewellery don’t look nice together. It’s too much of a clash. Shilpa looks lovely neck up. How does she do it?

the earrrings are awesome. but the saree for that needed to be a bit more traditional.
TBH, i dont really like that weird black and white check box in the traditional looking saree.

    Shilpa looks beautiful.

  10. She should’ve swapped the jewellery for something way simpler, toned down the makeup and changed up the hair. The saree screams whimsical but the jewellery and makeup are off to a wedding!
