In Masaba

Wearing a suit by Masaba, Shilpa inaugurated a jewelry store in Mumbai. Matching gold-tone jootis and some serious bling finished out the actor’s look. Not one of Ms. Shetty’s better appearances… Between the suit itself and the jewelry it was paired with, the look just wasn’t one I could get behind.

  1. YikOs!! Cannot believe that this is a Masaba
It looks like the designer is back to using the unflattering china silk sort of fabric after taking a break from it

An eyesore of an outfit, hope shilpa stays off from this dress.

  2. Its to Shilpa’s credit that this doen’t look totally mental. What an eyesore of an outfit. masaba needs to re-think and maybe take a few refresher design courses.

  3. The above knee kurti is a style I do not understand. It fails with both structuring and drape and flow. The dupatta looks clumsy with it going on long after the fall of the kurta. Few women look good in it regardless of shape and size. Stay at the waist/hip or go below the knee!

  4. I don’t think it’s such a bad outfit ! The color is fresh and shilpa is obviously carrying it off so well ! Definitely better than sonam’s hideous outfits

  5. I love masaba’s personality, but seriously some of her designs are an eyesore.. I have not seen a good piece since her first few collections.

  6. It’s a striking colour but the stitching and the styling is soooo dated! It takes exceptional talent(?) to make Shilpa Shetty look bad in Indian wear! A little more effort into designing please, Ms. Masaba?! On an aside, the rings on SS’s fingers changed hands in the second pic! Wonder how that came about ! :p

  7. I don’t get how this is a ‘designer’ outfit. The gota flowers on the kurta are the more the basic form gota work available in the country, and can be bought as is from stores selling laces, buttons, etc. The lined gota on the dupatta is also so common, as is the pairing of the kurta with that kind of dupatta. What is the designer’s input in this outfit, I wonder.
