Vision In White! Or WTHeyyy?

Comment image 49

Shilpa wore a ruffled/frilly sari to the FICCI Frames event in Mumbai with a silver Ferragamo Gancio clutch. The lady may have the figure to pull anything off but this was pushing the limits!

We thought it was more of a WTHeyyy. You?

Update: Shilpa is in a Tarun Tahiliani creation. Thanks ‘anu’ for the tip-off. You can see more pics inside.

  1. On the fence — I love how she put everything together.. I love white and silver. And those earrings are beautiful! Itt’s the ruffles that ruin this whole outfit

  2. I don’t think its a WTHeyy, esp. as i’ve seen some really horrible designs and dresses get way without being put into the category they so rightly deserved.

I like how she’s draped it, atleast not 2 much on show, and the fact that she’s not got something totally blingy on…

she’s experimented, which i think is good, feathers, ruffles or whatever, its not sooooo bad, not something i would like but she does wear it well.

  3. I love, love, love this look. Original, quirky, and exciting to the eye. Love the jewelry as well. Perfect! While I don’t necessarily dig the model’s blouse, shilpa is wearing a beautiful one.

  4. Sarees can be versatile, they are beautiful in ways such as ethnic, luxurious, textural, hues, fabrics, etc…yet they always remained Indian. This is what I wd call a sari that is not limiting to desis. more like a globalized world is flat kind of sari, on a ramp next to haute couture, yet remain distinctive. I would love to see more experimentation.

  5. LOVE the peach version! On the fence about the white one! It’s nice but also quite not there. Good experimentation though.I wonder what she would’ve looked like in the peach worn just like that? It might’ve been typical of her because it’s so much skin show.

  6. C’mon guys it’s not at all a WTHeyyy. It’s early 90s. It’s bollywood bling-tastic. It’s a symbol of a simpler blingier time. You gotta love it!

  7. it looks lovely on the model, complements her skin tone perfectly and she went minimal with everyhting else (unlike Shilpa) and let the saree make it’s statement

  8. It looks like she got caught in a shredder on her way to the event!
The sari doesn’t look bad on the model, maybe because of the color and the way its styled.

  9. i like the fact that the saree has taken a twist… i mean it doesnt look that bad.. its alrite to me.. sitting on the fence too…
i like the drape better on the model tho.. plus it has more ruffles to give a better effect..

  10. i also think sari works on the model because of no bling and the color.. i think shilpas blouse straps conflict, plus all the bling she has on.. and her feathery hair also… i think it looks better on the model because of the pulled back hair…

  11. i actually LOVE this saree on Shilpa and i think she does full justice to it: it’s very unique without being blingy..i don’t think it’s a look that everyone can pull off, but i love the simplicity of her make-up and accessories with the saree..i think she totally rocks the saree!

  13. She looks like a Swan. But seriously what is with this one-boob-show these days in Bollywood. For God’s sake don’t kill the ethnic attire like this.

  15. Sari is not to die for, the color, texture and feather makes you yawn and think of bed because it looks like night gown but She again carry herself well with a horrible Sari like this, look at her height and perfect body posture I hate her

  16. If anyone can pull such a sari, its shilpa. Its not the usual types but i dont think its WTHEYYY. I think the white kind of saved her from that.

  18. i actually LOVE how Shilpa is looking and carrying it so well ….. its a bold choice with the ruffles and all, but hey thats what the stars are for. The oridinary gals cannt wear this to a party, but She looks awesome in the sari, lovely blouse, and gorgeous earings !!!! It’s a look that only Shilpa can pull off, coz of her figure, beauty and confidence !
