OMG! OTT is an understatement! the crazy colors and bling on this monstrosity are hurting my eyes.

I would say OTT. Totally fugly. Manish Malhotra is holding onto his glory days as Indias numero uno designer umm back in the Raja Hindustani days but times have changed and now less is more. Time to move on MM. Just my personal thought.

What a disaster! Manish must have used up all the glitter and sequins in Bombay. The dress, the makeup, the jewelery..everything is so blinding!

this outfit is terrible. manish malhotra used to be so good. i feel like now he just puts together something outrageous and thinks that by the virtue of being outrageous, it is fashionable. very tacky, imo.

Finale clothes are always OTT and I always defend them but THIS is just terrible. The blouse is out of place and cheap and what is that pink elastic holding the bottom in place around her waist? She is becoming more and more like indian barbie every day. GAUDY and CHEAP and TASTELESS.

Whats that plain pink border on the waist…? It looks like a last minute job to add length to the lehenga but actually ends up looking like underwear peeking out.

It’s pretty tacky…but it would have been a lot less OTT if she’d lost the dupatta. The colors from the dupatta make it even crazier…how exactly does green tie in? :/ That and if the blouse was tappered in at the bottom instead having that weird, loose, ruffley waistband.
She has an amazing figure though–one of the best I’ve seen.

This is a tv show and bling does not hurt. Gaudy outfit but she carries it off and it looks fine on a TV show. Ofcourse Id rather be caught dead than wearing that myself.

Manish Malhotra is in denial. There’s no talent, honey, and shiny, colorful things can’t hide this fact. I’m not even going to bother deconstructing this outfit. Everything about it is wrong, wrong, wrong. Ugh.
And does Shilpa not have eyes? Why on earth would anyone wear such a thing?
Its not just the lehenga, blouse and make thats bad…earrings are equally bad….its time that she experiments a little…we all know she has got a great body…now get over it and try something new

I don’t get why everyone complains about her body. Its as if you guys thought she was the ONLY person in the whole world who is “showing off” her body. She’s JUST WEARING CLOTHES! Can she help it if her body happens to look good in those clothes? Everybody else in Bollywood wears saris and lenghas yet when they wear it noone goes “yawn ok Bips has a nice body move on”.. or “Akshay we get it you have a hot body stop showing it off with those tight sweater vests”. It just seems so unfair because we are the ones who comment on her body, she has other nice qualities as welll.
Sharin I agree with you, I think it’s because Shilpa has such a KILLER body that it always draws attention even if she is completely covered up and everything. Anybody with such height and figure is going to get noticed for it…it does not necessarily mean she is flaunting it; her figure is 10x better than the other actresses so she is naturally going to draw more attention. She is a classic case of someone who makes the DRESS look good instead of the other way round. Forget the choice of even this incredibly WTHeyy dress above; overall, she does look good in it!…can we even think of anyone else who would make this christmas tree ensemble look this good?
SO much of hard work has gone in to the lehenga and the duppatta that Manish almost forgot about the blouse; then he picks up whatever he has at hand.. after all, it is Shilpa – she can work anything and she trusts me blindly!!
i agree that shilpa works this monstrocity far better than anyone else could..that being said, it’s time for some of these bollywood actressess to boycott/move beyond has been MM to more updated and innovative designers…

i pinched myself when i saw this on tv. whats with the left shoulder of the blouse? just to make it look “different”? just ends up looking wannabe-ish. and the waist of the lehenga? why is it a different color? she carried the hideous outfit well though.
