Sari Style
Sharmin attended Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at the Ambanis wearing a purple parsi gara sari paired with a white Raw Mango art deco design blouse. We don’t see enough of parsi gara saris so am really happy to see one.

Be that as it may, the hair and those ear ornaments look weird.
I understand your comment. But I feel ever since stylists and fashion industry’s trends and dos and don’ts, we are reduced some handful of repeated looks. That makes everyone look the same. It may not be my cup of tea but this look gives a more personalized look. Like this is her preference and if we keep the handbook aside it really isn’t that bad. A bun and same old eating styles will be just another look from some curated designer catalogue.
Earring*
the saree deserved better accessories, starting with the blouse. the white just isn’t working. i’m thinking a purple silk or even a yellow silk with minimal gara work/other hand embroidery or even jamdani weaves.
The white blouse is overpowering and taking attention away from the embroidery !! and yes- hair+earrings= not so nice!!
Could some knowledgeable person here please educate me on how to identify a parsi gara sari vs say a banarasi? They appear very similar, atleast in pictures.
Parsi gara is hand embroidery while Benarasi will be a pattern created via a weave.
Why is the blouse called “art deco”?
The embroidery pattern on the neck is inspired by art deco design.
The saree itself is beautiful! But The look is a mess.
That hair
The earrings dont fit
The Bracelets look randomly picked – design and color and the fit
The nail color?
The blouse is the biggest issue. Neither the color or the fit or the design around neck is doing anything good for the saree
The saree drape is sloppy
There is bad outfits and there is good clothes ill done. This look is the latter.
Imo, the blouse and saree go well together but if I was wearing this look then I would have replaced those earrings with some simple pearly studs to pick up on the white, removed that hand/ring thing and and maybe just wear one nice yet simple pearl ring and change that nail colour to a nude/natural colour.
The saree is busy and there’s a lot going on, making it even busier.
Given the high neck blouse, I may have even tried pulling my hair back in a loose bun or ponytail.
Hair pulled back into a loose bun and small pearl studs, would have made the sari the centre of attaraction and a great, neat look. Those bracelets also need to go
