Ms. Tagore and Ms. Garewal, who are at Cannes representing the screening of Satyajit Ray’s Aranyer Din Ratri, walked the red carpet on Monday evening with the former wearing a green benarasi sari and the latter, a creation from Karleo. Loved Ms. Tagore in her sari.

  1. She does look great. But for Cannes, I wish she had amped it up. An updo, a slightly different share, some elevated jewelry, and a funkier bag/clutch. We know she can carry it off.

    • Why should she? She doesn’t need to grab eyeballs, prove a point, land a brand contract. She’s herself through and through, elegant, composed, totally at ease with the world media. I’m glad she stayed true to her aesthetic and chose to wear what she did. We should all be so lucky to age like her.

  4. Older actresses in a sari are like babies, they can do no wrong:). The saree itself is nothing to write home about but it is a classic sort and appropriate for Cannes.

  5. It is a beautiful sari but sorry it seems a bit underwhelming. There are such gorgeous silk saris and she chose this .
