Just A Blouse..

We pay so much attention to the sari, the lehnga and the kameez that we sometimes totally forget the sari blouse. And in this day and age where skin seems to be totally in, I am totally digging the blouses sported by Varsha Usgaonkar and Shabana Azmi recently.

Love the neckline and the back opening effect of Varsha’s blouse and love the materials used on Shabana’s blouse. Sometimes, keeping it simple just works so much better! (Of course, that excludes varsha’s ugly bag and shabana’s ugly shades and even uglier earrings!)

Satya Paul’s Pop Art

Satya Paul’s latest collection reminds me a lot of Manish Arora. Let’s put it this way, if Manish designed sari’s then this might be what they would look like and maybe a little better. Still, Paul’s collection has it funny moments with the Oogle sari that features a browser and the address bar pointing to his online store.

Deepika In Manish Malhotra

..at the red carpet of Sabse Favourite Kaun.

Don’t forget that we first saw this kind of sari (with the ball trimming) on Madhuri at the Star Voice of India finale.

The Bong Bips

When I first read that Bipasha has a totally new look for Rituparno Ghosh’s movie “Shob Choritri Kalponik”, I didn’t quite believe it. But, seeing is believing. At the recent press conference for the movie, Bips sported the “bong” look to the T.

If her dad was shocked to see her in this getup, do ya blame us for also being taken aback!

You should also note that Preity also donned the “bong” look for Ghosh’s “The Last Lear”. Now we will have to wait and see who looks better!

Shobha De’s Christmas Collection

While other designers were busy designing bridal wear, Shobha De obviously had to do something different. She decided to do a collection based on the most popular festival celebrated all over the world. Christmas. Her new saree collection, called the Snowflakes Collection is a glamorous line inspired by the spirit and colors of Christmas and of course, the snowflake.

I must say, I am quite impressed by this collection. Unlike the previous collection, which was mostly consisted of printed saris, this collection with all the embroidery seems a much more interesting and gives Shobha De more credibility as a designer!

To see more of her collection, go here.
