Sari Style

For her appearance at the annual Vogue’s ‘Fashion’s Night Out’, Mini chose a Raw Mango sari, but with a twist. Draping her silk sari with a belt, Ms. Mathur finished out the look with an updo, a roomy bag and assorted jewelry.

When it comes to her saris, she’s always been a favorite on these pages… Think the streak continues with this appearance? We say yes! The event is perfect for taking chances and having worn the sari with both ease and charm, she pulled it off!

  1. What the heck is going on? The bag, the belt and the eye makeup/concealer are bad. I have a nice feeling about our saris, but these celebs with their weird ways of draping it are making me uneasy.

  2. While I don’t particularly think the sari or the look is great (nice draping but brown with black…) not sure it stands out in any way. But Mini does look absolutely lovely and comfortable. That said, she has worn way better saris.

  4. This is how I looked as a kid when I used to drape my mothers sari over whatever t shirt I was wearing, so it’s a no for me. Kid trying to play grown up look does not equal height of fashion.

  5. Was the theme “chambal ki ghati”? Looks like she is gonna go and daaka daalo somewhere!
Usually I love every appearance of Mini’, specially the ones in sarees, but this one is not doing it for me.

  6. Fashionistas in Pakistan are sporting belts with their saris these days but on the waist not the hip and not as chunky as this one. Sorry not working for me.

  7. Loving it! But credit goes to her and her only for being able to carry such a drape! It is a hundred times better than one bust showing drape with skimpy blouses some people tend to do these days!

  8. Her lively attitude is all I like here. Tho I usually like her mix n’ matches, cudn like the all black saree with the boring black N’ grey ill fitted blouse and yes, that awkward belt and the out-of-place sandals peeping out of her saree…ughhh..
