On The Sets

Sara and Janhvi taped an episode of The Big Picture with Ranveer on Wednesday evening with Sara wearing a striped mini dress from Retrofête and Janhvi, a blush pink one.

Sure the colors of their dresses were different here but overall, the two looked mostly a mirror image of each other and their look was lazy styling at best. Instead of mimicking the same ole influencer fashion, these ladies could use taking some inspiration from Zendaya.

  1. You think the girls called each other up and went matchy-matchy? That’s kinda sweet as bollywood actresses have a long history of not really being friends. I like that camaraderie and they’re looking nice! 🙂

  2. Wow! Sara got it right for now and she looks awesome, hate her cross leg awkward stance. Jahanvi looks good in the soft sparkly pink, sandals and make up needed toning down.

  4. Ok, they may look like twins but so what? They look fit,fab and stylish!

I had to google Zendaya and the first few images that cropped up, IMO these girls are doing far better at least in the above pics.

    • Nah, this is definitely lazy styling. Shoes, outfits, hair, makeup, necklines, even their pose and the length of their dresses are the same. Of course, they’re fit and look good, but this is hardly fresh or original.

While on this subject, Ananya, Tara, Shanaya, Kirara…(I hate to say this out loud but) they all look the same to me. Why would anyone want to see 10 Bollywood younglings looking identical?

      • We want to see them because how else will we see them romance Salman or Akshay or Ajay or Ranveer :)) men 30 years senior to them? It will be edgy, spunky and all..
On a serious note… yes there is zero individuality or style or dialog delivery sadly, but I am sure they will become exceptionally famous, wealthy and successful :))

  5. Somehow I feel Janhavi’s outfit proportions are off. She looks more stylish in tailored outfits. I wish they would add one edgy item, a earring or jacket or something. Lazy styling it is.

  6. So what if they BOTH look visibly uncomfortable at how short the dress is? They are doing it for their gender’s empowerment 🙂 So…
    Bravo!

    • Bollywood definition of empowerment = no creativity, no individuality, no personal taste, no event/weather appropriateness, and blindly following the ” trends”. By this definition, I am no empowered creature and I am very happy about it.

  7. Totally agree with PnP here.
They look like twins – same skin tone, height, weight, pose. Really cookie cutter.
Maybe there would be some variety, if there were girls from outside South Bombay or non-Alumni of the Ambani or American International School.

  8. They all literally look the same. Same clothes, same body structure, same hair, same ‘individuality’. This Bwood cloning is unbelievable.

  9. i think they are looking good. They do not need to copy zendaya . Even if they did, we would say why they copy hollywood… come on. Give them a break. They have not even grown up yet to be bollywood polictical. And Jhanvi does not have her mentor ( Sridevi) to teach her how to respond to media.

    • Not grown up yet? At 25 years of age? Seriously! And they both have an army of people to mentor them.
It is more a case of wanting to be a star than an actress. Their role models are clearly the Kardashians. If you cover their heads nobody would be able to tell any of these newbies apart. If we were to hear only their voices then also we can’t tell them apart. They are all cut from the same cloth. It’s a sad affair where no one talks about the art, the love of cinema. Going to the gym and creating fake camaraderie does not make the actor act.

      • Agree with Dee! Really, we cannot use the “no mentor” reasoning for them – they belong to old Bollywood families and have been mentored to be in the industry since a young age. I doubt they ever even considered doing anything else, other than be ‘stars’.
With that in mind, this is just a case of lazy styling — no individuality, no trying to break the mould; just the typical Bollywood starlet look.
With all the resources at their disposal, they can certainly do much better.

    • They are both around 25, they have a team of designers, stylists, grooming professionals around them day in and day out. They both are from families that belong to Bollywood. What these two ladies -and the rest of the starlets – lack is individuality and personality

  10. Well I think after reading all those comments that we’re being too hard on them. Considering that they’re young and probably still finding their sense of style, I think they’re looking sweet, graceful and at least not wearing something hideous here. We (myself included) blame them that they follow trends blindly, wear anything that their stylists make them wear, that they don’t have their own sense of style, and even criticize them when they do exercise their sense of style sometimes! What option have they got left? Let them be, people! I’d much rather scrutinize, and dare I say, criticize the more mature actresses who have finally come into their own in their 40s, and one can clearly judge where they stand having seen years of trends!
