Wearing a Shantanu & Nikhil lehenga with diamond jewelry, Sanya attended a recent awards night in Mumbai. She looked lovely and radiant but it can’t just be me who felt the red lehenga seemed out of place at an awards event? Aside from the fact that the red melts in to the carpet, the lehenga itself felt a bit too much and bridal-y.

I think its also the nature of the awards – this is the Dadasaheb Phalke awards as opposed to say a Filmfare. Perhaps that explains the preference of traditional wear.
It’s some new BS awards. Not THE dada saheb phalke award given out during the national awards .
Agree and the sports bra-ish design of the blouse from the back makes me cringe.
I think she looks lovely ,happy and radiant..
while the lehengas is beautiful and gives a statuesque look, the blouse spoils it all – design and neck line. more delicate jewellery instead of the high choker would have looked good

It’s a pretty enough outfit but it’s not reflective of Sanya’s individual style. As for event appropriateness, I think that ship has long sailed the Hindi film industry. I also feel stylists force up and coming actors like Sanya, who probably don’t have enough influence, into a cookie cutter mould.
She looks so gorgeous.
I recently commented about her on Yami’s post and here she is. Less said about the outfit, the better but just looking at her makes me so happy
That is a strikingly beautiful lehenga and dupatta. The top ruins it for me. A statement diamond lariat would have been a better fit here. As is, the diamond choker doesn’t go with the vibe of this ensemble.
She looks amazing! And I love that she doesn’t do the cookie cutter Bollywood style dressing. She embraces her natural hair too, her smile is very nice and relatable as opposed to pouting celebrities!
