While it was yet another velour sweatsuit for Ms. Shetty, Katrina donned a non-velour one but of the three we much preferred Ms. Reddy’s travel style irrespective of those high-waisted denims. Yep, that’s how much we hate sweatsuits when worn during travelling (and especially ones worn with sneakers).

  1. Katrina justifies the purpose of velour suits. They are not made for a fashion statement, these suits are for comfort and everyday errands including traveling. Its funny I hate it on sameera…..

  2. u gotta consider that its an airport where millions of ppl wear sneakers and sweats, traveling in tight denim and tight shoes is terrible!
I personally would wear what katrina wore without glasses ofcouse…

  3. this picture aside:
if someones gonna be on an airplane for hours at a stretch, they need do be comfortable. in which case sweatpants/leggings/cotton/jersey pants or even flippin pj’s are needed, sometimes all you need is comfort.

  4. i guess this is where we majorly differ.
i have no qualms about ppl dressing in whatever they feel the most comfortable in on a plane.

the only way to travel is to travel comfortably.

  5. I do like Katrina’s. It does not look like a sweatsuit. Instead it has a sporty, comfy look. Would only travel a little like Sameera reddy if i was on a business trip leaving the office on a Friday to the airport.

  7. I’ve never understood the idea of wearing sweatsuits, velour or otherwise, while traveling. There is plenty of comfortable clothing that you can wear and still look put together. Hell, even a sweatshirt with jeans is still better than a sweatsuit!

And don’t these ladies travel first-class? How uncomfortable can they possibly be?

      • Or maybe they are just human beings and they should be allowed to travel how they want, and the peeps to be criticized are the ones criticizing their fashion choices given that they were not at any public event??

Just because they are celebs doesn’t mean they aren’t real women. They are. And we have ALL had these moments where we’ve chosen sloppy comfort over chic.

They dont have to justify their private clothes choices (how uncomfortable can the first-class be? etc). This is not a fashion dictatorship.

        • What makes my criticism any different than the critiques of every other outfit they wear? This is a fashion blog, where people critique celebrity fashion. These women aren’t wearing regular sweats and a t-shirt – they clearly put some thought into what they decided to wear while traveling. To many people, velour sweatsuits ARE considered chic. I personally don’t find them very attractive, and would rather wear other clothes while traveling. Expressing my opinion doesn’t mean I want to impose that opinion on these women, or any other women for that matter.

I agree that people should be able to wear whatever they choose – I would be a bad feminist if I policed other people’s fashion choices. Nevertheless, I should have the ability to state whether I agree or disagree with their choices.

        • U didn’t like the comment made by Jennifer (above Zara’s comment) cos it has nothing to do with fashion (as if all cmnts on this website are!) & now u don’t want anyone to comment or express their opinion on the clothes either ??!!

    • AMEN!! After reading the comments, I thought I was the weird one judging people wearing sweats to airport..I travel to India and I do want to be comfortable but won’t be caught dead in one of these..uggglyyy….Even leggings with a loose tee and flip-flops would be more comfortable and equally stylish..Shilpa and kat..listening anyone?? 🙂

    • I have travelled in jeans and then in sweatpants, you can’t argue with the comfort level btwn the two. Its not abt business class, its the inseam and button of denim that kept bothering me while sitting for more then 6 hrs! So sweatpants it is for me.

    • I change into my yoga pants once I am inside the plane and change back into jeans when I am ready to get off the plane. I brush my hair, teeth, wash my face, put lip gloss before getting off a long flight….why would I want to be seen in an airport in pajamas or gym clothes looking drab especially if I know there will be photographers! :-S

  8. Such high waisted stretch denims for a flight? Don’t think so. Prefer Katrina and even Shilpa over what Sameera is wearing. This is one of those posts where it’s P&P vs the readers (who disagree). 😛

  9. p&p…..i dont get why u hate sweatsuits so much… i am sorry but to me they look stylish and a plus is that they r wayyyy comfortable…i own a few pairs myself and all my friends have also followed suit (no pun intended)cos of their comfort level….i however dislike all three outfits cos of the color on shilpa, the high waist on sameera and katrina looks manly(i agree wit kiran on tat)

  10. Sometimes people need comfort too, and we can’t except celebrities to be perfect all the time to cater to our aesthetic senses. I hate sweatsuits myself (think they usually look ugly) but I don’t grudge them wearing it.

  11. um excuse me but if ur wearing a TRACKSUIT snickers r the best thing to wear!! u dont wear fancy flat shows with a tracksuit like shilpa…n i think katrina looks fine for a airplane ride..its not a fashion show!!!!

  12. What’s wrong in wearing velour while travelling, they are/look sooo comfortable, you cannot be stylish all the time sometimes you need to get your priorities right!!!

  13. I like Katrina’s look. It is not Velvet like shilpa’s and is comfortable over Sameera’s.
When they are not shooting I like it if they dress down like this & be like real people.

  14. Sameera looks quite bad…I dont travel in velour sweats but if thats what makes you comfy then u sure as well wear it…bad enough you have to endure security checks, long flights and all…

  15. i like shilpa’s most. hers loos the most comfortable. kat’s is too tight in the waist n a size too small for her. well as for sameera, she must be dying to get out of those clothes.

  16. A frequent traveler myself, not always in biz or first class, I strongly prefer comfortable clothes. With the conditioned, pressured air, warm layers are best. International travel mandates long, cramped cabintime. Transferring between terminals during layovers necessitates comfy shoes. sweats over jeans anyday with its comfortable elastic over buttons and zippers.Comfortable shoes win over heels. That being said, those Juicy Couture type velours frighten me. Kat looks comfortable. Shilpa makes me want to yell, “Michael Jackson lives!”

  17. I also travel quite frequently and I agree with herdisnot that comfort is key, especially shoes! I usually wear leggings and flat shoes with perhaps a loose tshirt or a baby doll type dress (or whatever they’re called these days). INHO, I like Shilpa’s look. She just LOOKS more comfortable and happy unlike Katrina, who (and I do understand this is a fashion blog etc 😀 but I just want to be catty lol) looks constipated.

  18. while i might not choose pink velour like shilpa, i’d pick tracks over jeans anyway for a long flight. sorry P&P – gotta disagree with you entirely. its not a movie premiere – its a long flight and they need their beauty sleep
