In Anita Dongre
Samantha attended the ANR Awards wearing a blue Anita Dongre lehenga with a gold choli and a statement Amrapali necklace. Considering the event, part of me wishes that she had added a dupatta to finish out the look, especially considering the choli was backless.
But, I have to admit, she wears the lehenga with elegance. On some others, the dupatta-less look might have looked crude.
What say you?

Definately needed a dupatta..
No no no, a big fat NO!!! It is not event appropriate. There is nothing elegant about this look.
It would be fine without a duppata if the top was covered from the back. If it was like a normal crop top without the back cut out like that, it would be fine.
Right now she looks undressed.
Damn look at those abs! A dupatta would’ve been nice but Sam doesn’t look tawdry or vulgar.
So damn true. What abs and she looks amazing. It would have looked pathetic & vulgar on others who do not have the bod type to carry this kind of look.
she is beautiful, sure, and the colors look good on her, but the lack of a dupatta makes me uncomfortable. she must have a great deal of confidence to wear it the way she did, i guess.
This outfit is screaming for a dupatta ….
This girl has no fashion sense…….this lehenga looks so funny without dupatta….she thinks she is making a fashion statement by doing so….sad
Meh..never got the point of the dupatta given that most people balance it precariously on their shoulder.
Agreed. It is not as if the dupatta would cover any of the skin she is currently showing- and she is not showing any major skin.
A dupatta might add an element of feminity and demureness, but this is a good look.
how is this event appropriate? lack of common sense is quite evident. lengha is beautiful, blouse look like made with cheap raw silk and lets not talk about terrible makeup and foundation on the back. ughh..
she looks surprisingly good even with all the faults in her dress … maybe for me its those amazing abs 😀
Ummm… What abs???
Definitely dupatta would have added elegance to the outfit and would be more appropriate for the occasion.
Samanta clearly has a problem distinguishing between cropped top worn with a skirt (Prada one Frieda Pinto wore right when the cropped top began becoming trendy) and choli with lehenga. A choli with lehenga needs duaptta. Period.
It doesn’t matter that the person who wore a lehenga without dupatta had no body fat. It just isn’t done because it looks crude.
I cannot believe you think she carried it off…. you who thinks a sari palla should be worn the way it is meant to be (I totally agree with you)….
A very poor choice of styling by Samanta.
This look is making me uncomfortable…would feel a lil naked wearing this.
I can’t believe this look was styled by Neeraja kona?? Or is Anisha jain her stylist now??
Neeraja kona and this?? No
This look was by Anisha Jain.
Wow., this looks baaad. What’s with that white washed shiny, oily make-up that looks so ridiculous different from the rest of her skin tone.
More than the missing dupatta, this look is screaming look at my abs. In an award function not so appropriate.
I still feel she emulates Sonam a lot. A lot of her appearances seem so similar to what Sonam wears. This appearance of Samantha coming close on the heels of Sonam’s DKD trailer launch (the red lehenga one, without a dupatta). Previously too she wore an ‘inspired’ look – Anamika Khanna contemporary saree + Hair accessory.
And like everyone said – NOT event appropriate (save it for an audio launch or store launch maybe – there are zillions of those, I’m sure). For God’s sake, they were felicitating Sr. Bacchhan with an ANR award! She was clearly going for a ‘head turning’ look. Could have been done with more taste though.
Love the colour of the lehenga…now only if she had not forgotten her dupatta.
Come on… she looks half dressed..
The lehenga is gorgeous! Dupatta-less this does look a bit bare, but she carries it off so well. I think she looks lovely.
She is trying to create a fashion icon image in the south which she is not…this doesn’t mean I don’t like her…it’s just that I don’t want her to prove a point to anyone by her dressing sense..instead enjoy being herself…
This is not the first time she looks out of place…she will retweet all the fashion bloggers who praised her…and then say she never cared for anyone’s opinion but she dresses for herself…
Lol. Some comments are so ridiculous. I think everyone in show business tries to prove a point by dressing up. If not for it what will highheel be doing? Anyway, I will rather see her try for newer things rather than showing up tacky/trashy like a Lakshmi Manchu .
Sam is proving a point with her skimpy outfits and bikini show with all the recent talk about her skin disease. Definitely out to draw attention.
My Vote goes to having the dupatta. there is a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen, and a dupatta would at the least help her cover up …..don’t like the look one tiny bit
If she hadn’t worn that necklace then it would def need a dupatta, but I feel with that necklace a dupatta would look weird. By adding the necklace I feel like this looks like a whole outfit on its own. I think she looks stunning, and glad to see her do a brighter lip. And i’m obsessed with this lehenga I need it in my life
This is vulgar with dupatta or without one. as if she is telling people “look I have girls”!!
The choli should have been normal I.e had a back or she should have added a dupatta. Also there is clearly some major stuffing in the chest area.
But Samantha still looks good.
