In Erum Ali

Wearing an orange suit by Erum Ali, Saira accompanied A.R. at the IIFA Awards in Singapore. On any one else, this look might have been way too overwhelming and ott for the Green Carpet but, not so much on Saira. Maybe it has something to do with the air of serenity she wears around her?

P.S. Erum is the wife of actor Abbas.

  1. The only thing that works for her is the jewellery and colour. The embroiidery is too overwhelming for her petite frame and the suit is ill-fitting – look at those sleeves.

  2. The suit is pretty, the embroidery lovely. I think she wears it well, but I do wish her lipstick were a different color. Beautiful woman, though. 🙂

  3. Except the color which suits her lighter complexion nothing works. Those sandals are so 90’s and an eye sore. Idk about the serenity, people might not pass on any mean comments for the fact that she has her hair covered and all.

    • Agreed, Adara! You forgot about the hair color. If it was any other celebrity there would have been flak for that ugly hair color. And this Erum lady should stop designing clothes, there’s nothing special or even remotely nice about that outfit.

    • I disagree with your comment about her not getting flak just because she covers her head. She has an understated elegance about her that’s very uncommon.
Personally speaking, the dress isn’t something I would wear but I’m sure I’d look sloppy if I did. She makes it work.

      • We need to agree to disagree. I don’t think she is making this fugly suit work. Of course, there are tons of actresses out there who look very pretty and have their own quotient of elegance and grace but fail miserably when it gets to fashion sense or the styling. Strictly on that basis, i find this look overwhelming and weird.

      • Oh please! From Aishwarya to Nandita Mahatani, I have read a lot of hate comments on HHC only for the hair color. So based on that why isn’t any one even talking about it when that fugly hair color is so visible? And that shade of lipstick for orange suit, like really? From top to bottom this look is a fashion disaster.

        • Adara, the suit is gaudy, there’s no two opinions about that. But, she carries it off beautifully. Perhaps it’s do with her timid posture, but I can’t get myself to hate her overall ‘look’. Also, she does seem to have a distinct style; very traditional, embroidered suits and all. Since this is a fashion blog, I respect your opinions, to each his own.

          • Leila, she might not be a celebrity like them but she is AR rahmans wife and the reason she is featured here is for that precise reason. HHC is for us to discuss fashion. That would include anything that’s got to do with her. My sole point is that comments won’t attack her on any regard since it might feel offensive for that sect people.

    • I disagree about the sandals, she’s channeling this mughal look and they work with this outfit. I think she deliberately wears a slightly loose fit …I like her outfit and the colours suits it…i do however agree that her hair colour is not very nice. Perhaps people didnt comment on it coz they can hardly see any of it..

  4. I like how you mentioned her air of serenity. She looks so feminine, modest, and dignified. I like it. Nice outfit and the way she wears it. If I tried it, I’d be a mess with the cloth slipping from my head as well as shoulder. I wonder how it’s done.

  5. Wow. This allover orange palette, down to the auburn hair, really suits her! The shoes could’ve been more feminine. Maybe some stiletto sandals.
