  1. Waaah!

Also, that everyday blouse looks weird on these pages because for the past 3 years designers have done some very weird experiments with blouses and topwear in general.

  2. Love the saree and love the pearls. I like that she has long gorgeous hair but would recommend a 2 inch trim with a blunt cut for a styled healthy hair look, would add to the final polish just a tad more

  3. What a gorgeous girl also seems so effortless and is carrying the saree so elegantly. We need more of her, she is the ultimate palate cleanser. Also so tired of over-stylized, over curated looks, let us bring back simplicity.

  4. Gosh somehow the un-styled hair adds to the charm! It encapsulates the nostalgia we have for yester-year actresses who did not have hyper-curated looks. So so natural and pretty. Love the draping too.

    • I know really! My eyes were stuck on her hair, love that there’s confidence to stay real in current times too. All the polishing looks and hair spa making excess shiny, bouncy hair is actually unpleasant.

  5. A sight for sore eyes. We need a graceful saree post for every 5-6 tacky outfits. Sai Pallavi looks gorgeous in the heavy Rekha-esque kanjeevaram. Love how effortless she is on stage usually, as if she’s at a friend’s wedding and not a filmy function where all eyes are on her.

  7. She looks gorgeous here. Heart the saree. Major Love!

Minor nitpicking, the bottom pleats could have been more crisp. Pure Kanjivarams are known to stay sharp once draped.

For those of you who do not know her, she is a doctor, a super talented actress and an amazing dancer from the South film industry. What sets her apart is that she refuses to wear heavy make up for movies, events or celebrity sightings. She makes this clear to the directors before signing films. She states in her interviews that she wants to be recognized for her talent and not just looks. She hardly cuts, styles or combs her hair and mostly leaves it loose. So I was surprised to see the slight bit of styling/straightening/blow drying here. She also said no to million dollar fairness cream endorsements and takes a firm stand against body shaming advertising. She is one of my favorite actors from the South both for her talent and her personality. I hope she would be seen more in movies and on these pages.

    • Again, why do some people celebrate not wearing makeup or styling oneself? It sounds like she’s better than the rest by virtue of doing this. Isn’t it one’s choice to wear or not wear makeup?
To be clear, I know who she is, I’ve seen her movies. I think she’s pretty and a good dancer. Looks gorgeous in sarees. At the same time, everytime I watch her, I always feel she could put some effort into styling… Atleast the basic makeup and hair. Again, she’s being recognised more for not styling herself than her talent because almost everyone seems to mention about this when they introduce her.

      • I disagree with a few of your statements. Sai Pallavi is very much recognized for her movies and dance than “for not styling herself.” Her styling becomes a discussion point as it is rare to see a movie star who has grown to her stature present herself in the manner she does. She is a role model for many women and girls who are constantly struggling with body image issues. In fact, her first movie “premam” in malayalam has featured her with pimples and it was actually even included in the dialogues. That’s not to say that pimples are “great” to have. What is different and bold is that a woman is accepted the way she looks, and that is praise worthy and worth celebrating.

      • the point is she is not buckling under pressure of being over curated and stylized. she is sticking to her authenticity. not ‘ I am not like other girls!’ but ‘ this is me’.

  8. This women can do no wrong – she has a dignified presence.
I accept her with all her human “flaws” and love her for not hiding them behind make up. I love the principles behind it (she explains them in her interviews).
That aside, I think there is absolutely no harm in her playing around with her look (like braiding her hair). I hope to see her bloom, still within her ethos, when she feels comfortable with it.

  9. If Madhuri wears her natural hair, she looks dated. If Sai Pallavi wears her natural hair, she is authentic, non curated, etc etc. Double standards. SMH.

    • Madhuri is dated. It’s not just hair, I think the overall confidence and ease in being your own, given how easily we’ve sold out to times it’s nice to see someone in showbiz so real.. no comparisons, but most actresses have given off their old charm And the new ones have been groomed into made-up-ness.

    • Really, apples and oranges. Madhuri and most of her generation has succumbed to getting work done. That’s the polar opposite of what Sai stands for. No judgements, it’s a choice but being natural needs to be applauded.
