A Separate(s) Story

A recent launch had Ms. Jaikishan in attendance who for the occasion picked a Marc by Marc Jacobs bow mini and Madison polka-dot top. Dark lip, chain-strap bag, Bulgari ‘Serpenti’ watch and black pumps finished out her look.

While we’d hanker for a ponytail on anyone else, we are glad Roohi skipped it; it would’ve made an already rather “young” look seem even more twee. That said, while she wears the separates well, wish she had skipped on the gold-tone accessories (bag and watch) as well!

P.S: You can shop the Marc by Marc Jacobs skirt here.

  1. I agree that she looks a disaster but lets not put young and old labels on women’s clothing, there is enough stereotyping as it is. Who exactly has the right to decide what I am too young or old to wear. We as women should be able to wear what we want to without age being a factor.

Yes, in an idea world there should be no labeling on adult and old. But in the fashion world when some people just refuse to grow up, (or are too cash strapped to buy clothes more their age :), it ends up looking so atrociously ridiculous!

  2. she looks great: sassy, edgy and elegant, all at the same time. no need to hide beautiful, shapely legs at any age, if you know how to dress in a way that transforms traditionally “twee” items like this skirt, into something that works for a 40 something woman with the right showeware, top, hairstyle and accessories.
