These Boots Were Made For…

It’s a trend that I still have to warm up to even though many in Hollywood already have. I am talking about thigh-high boots and while we’ve yet have to see ladies from the tinsel world sport them, some others have already jumped on it. Of the lot, socialite Anjali Chawla’s look was the most eye-catching. She paired her boots with shorts and a sleeveless shirt with a bow detail. I would have loved it if she had skipped the beret and instead of the arm warmers, worn a full sleeve shirt. Her look was just too cluttered. I also like the Louboutin slouchy ones with the green dress on the lady on the far right. Ritu lost me at the belt and the silver bag and Deepika at the sheer shirt/coverlet.

Have you given in to them yet? Thigh-high boots, that is.

  2. No matter trendy, they are way too hookerish looking. We are missing the WHIP 🙂
And seriously, how far do you go to follow hollywood fashion??
I mean, these people are in India for god’s sake… boots are just beyond my imagination in that weather. I have no respect for any of these ladies fashion sense, it just seems very lame to wear boots in india.

  3. My favourite type of over the knee boots are the leather ones with platforms (think LV Fall 09). Also the leather platformed skin tight ones ( Fall 09 Rodarte, Gucci & Roberto Cavalli).

  5. Totally into them, but they’re very tricky. Tried buying a pair the other day, but my chicken legs wouldn’t have it… sad story. Anyway, I don’t think I want to see them on starlets I feel like they would just do it all wrong. Not much of a fan of how these ladies wore them either, but Anjali’s was def. the most eye catching… she was close.

  6. Oh hell no. I hate thigh high boots. The woman at the extreme right looks particularly bad in hers, those are Louboutin fakes. I am so sure. Bleh, I will probably never like thigh-high boots.

    • Considering that she was a runway model in New York, is married to a multimillionaire industrialist and featured in a Vogue article about her fabulous wardrobe I HIGHLY doubt that those are fakes. HIGHLY.

  7. I keep moving between Boston and Bangalore and the first casualty in packing when I move back to India are my boots. I would feel silly wearing boots in Indian weather.

Even if one looks past the weather issue, none of these women carry the boots well.
