In Love Kiki

Richa was seen at an event wearing a dress from Love Kiki with red mules and a red sequin potli like bag. The bag ain’t my cup of tea but the hair was bothering me more. Don’t want her going the Ash route and hiding her face with hair.

      • No, Payal. Im sorry, I dont agree with you on this. We deal with our issues in our own way. We are all honing to our defensive mechanisms.
So if Ash feels confident in poker hair and over sized clothes, so be it…

  1. Was that a jibe on The Aishwarya Rai?

    Anyway, Richa looks nice.
The bag is cute and quirky, i dont understand the shoe choice. A simple black open toe would have been better.

  2. I dont like the closing comment. Are we writing about an event called Inspiring Women Leaders for the year 2025, by shaming another woman?

  3. Oh so we have found a new target isnt it?

    – We have commented on Sonam’s insecurity about her bulky arms.
    – We have commented on Neha Dhupia wearing overcoats for her wide hips.
    – We have commented on Ash wanting to cover her recent weight gain.

Jeez, im with Gen Z on this one. Just leave women alone on how they want to dress to tackle their body image.

The fashion commentary should be on the clothes, not on someone’s underlying issues.

We dont know what battles they are fighting, what phase of dealing their physical construe they are in.

  4. She looks cute. The dress is very elegant.

Reading all the above comments, i have realized something.
Casual body shaming has become so rampant, we dont even realize how its become a part of usual conversation.

  5. But payal is right! Women have been told for centuries to be a certain size and the deep rooted securities make us do various things to hide our body weight, skin issues to camouflage. All she is saying is don’t hide and be who you are…a new mom!

    • I get that sentiment, of wanting to encourage women to “be who they are”. But when you tell women not to dress in a manner because it offends your ideals – whether it is Neena Gupta wearing sexy clothes or someone else covering up too much – both are judgy approaches. Let women reveal if they want to, let women cover up if they want to. Their bodies, their choice.

  6. I agree with Payal, she is just commenting on not hiding her face with the sloppy looking hairstyle. If a different person was wearing the same hairstyle, we will call it out as sloppy. So, why should this be any different? I think the comparison with Ash irked everyone, but she has the right to point out that the hairstyle pattern is dragging down the look. It is not about weight, it is not about insecurities, it is just a sloppy looking hairstyle. Let us leave it at that.

  7. Ditto Kiki! This is a lank, droopy, hairstyle that wouldn’t look nice on anyone – new mom or not. It should be perfectly acceptable to state one’s opinion on that.

On the other criticism, perhaps this is what a generational divide is because I didn’t see any body shaming by Payal – she made no comments on the shape, size or appearance of Richa or Aish’s face or body.

In particular Aish has always been and continues to be drop dead gorgeous. However not even a celebrated Miss World is going to look the same at 50 as she did at 20. I won’t speak for Payal but I definitely wish that Aish would own her current appearance (her face and body) otherwise what hope is there for the rest of us regular folks when we turn 50. 😉

Of course everyone has their insecurities and is entitled to address them in a way that bolsters their confidence. For Aish it seems like it is being enveloped in yards of fabric and covering up that beautiful face with her hair. It’s definitely her prerogative but I’m not body shaming her when I say I wish she’d stop hiding away all that beauty in miles of fabric and hair.

  8. It takes a long time for women to regain their energy, strength & confidence after having a baby . Took me over 7 years to join a gym , get in shape and feel myself again . The sleepless night’s & inflammation is clearly showing on Richa . But unfortunately being an actor she has to keep up with appearances. I don’t blame her for trying to cover up whatever she wants to in her case her face . Lighten up people , I’m sure we have all been thru that & Payal didn’t mean it with any bad intent . Ash has been hiding her face for a while because she’s insecure , she’s just like all of us !

  9. Man I miss your partner Priyanka- she never was personal! I have stopped reading your captions because of the casual misogyny and dismissal of people who don’t conform to your narrow taste.
